Saturday and lads

I have an extra day off again (Monday) - hurrah! I ab dot a code wod I caughd from liddle A, oo was snodding me all ober ebery day lasd week - boo, cos I thought I might nip away for an overnighter somewhere, but I don't like to do that if I'm gonna spread germs... But maybe it'll go away tomorrow... The other flip side of having an extra day off is that Mrs is home for the rest of the week, and mother's help is always more difficult than sole-charge nanny (and R will certainly play up to it...) On the other side, Mrs has booked R in for an extra day of school after Easter, so I'll have three days a week with just wee A, which will be nice. And that's enough about work! What I really wanted to post was one of these... *g*

I can't decide when this was taken... at the end of an op, when they've both realised it's all over and safe? Bodie's looking sort of grimly satisfied and Doyle is looking thoughtful... perhaps he's not sure the baddie deserved to die this time (like with Mickey Hamilton) - although he doesn't look as angry as he usually looks in that situation... Dunno - what do you think? *g*

The sun is rising before 7am these days - hurrah! I know, because on Tuesdays I see it... *yawwwns for 6.45am start*

And just to get back on topic a bit - I'm imagining the lads watching this sunset together... where do you reckon they'd be? *g*

I was going to say roll on reincarnation, but considering the way things have gone so far, I'd better be careful what I even pretend to wish for! On the bright side, I'm hoping I've sorted out what to do about the second of my 2017 horrors (the tax one), so that's two out of three. And I'm hoping that that is three - lj-scare, bad-customer and tax-horror. Maybe the last two will even have culminated in something positive...

Meanwhile, I did more tax-ing this morning, and then had to get out of the house for a while. I only meant to nip to Wells to return library books and go to the supermarket for essentials, but then I found myself with the wheels still rolling, and ended up having a rather chilly (but nice) walk along Brean Down Beach.

Actually not being able to get on and fix things just meant that I was nerve-jangly and stressed all day (I do hate it when I can't fix things), but still - beach. *g* And I bought some Rescue Remedy (shush, it's 27% alcohol, and if nothing else feels like you've just had a quick nip at the brandy, even in just four drops!), watched the latest QI, and tried to suss out work-horror a bit more (the customer really is trying it on, from what I can see so far - though being me I fret that I made some huge mistake in the bits I've not checked yet...). But now my eyes are melting, and I must away to bed, which means I'll be spending tomorrow proofreading my proofreading for free. Bastardos! I'm really paying for taking that week off over Christmas now - and next weekend will hopefully be the interview, so that won't be "off" as it were, either!

In one more bit of get-it-all-off-my-chest news, I've seen pics of the accommodation with Family 2. I spent ages on Friday trying to work out how big it was, and if there was any way I'd be able to fit in, and while I suspect it's a fair bit smaller than my lovely annexe, the bedroom is apparently pretty big, and if it has enough wall-space for lots of bookcases, then I'll fit in somehow. Its furnished, which is a shame, as I'll be a bit gutted to have to sell my two gorgeous Laura Ashely couches in particular - can't see any way that even one of them would fit (unless the bedroom's even bigger than bigger, but I suspect not... *g*

Bed. Hope you're having lovely weekends - someone should be!

It has been a day - and I felt the need to go out with my camera once or twice. *g* The first time was when I got up - it was a bit chilly this morning! It was only 1C when I checked again around sunset, and I suspect it never got much higher, though it was nice and blue-sky-ed for most of the day.

The second time I went for a tromp around the hacktrack around sunset, and the third time was when work was being impossible and I wanted to play with something shiny. Then I remembered that the moon and evening star had been pretty shiny the night before, so... *g*

Must admit was feeling a bit glum... )

...started like this:

It went on to look like this...

And then a bit of this... )

But Monsieur...

I've just discovered that the new computer I've got here at work (massive screen, bigger than the tv I have at home, harddrive integrated into the flat screen) - has a touch screen! No one told me, I just happened to tap it with my pencil when I was pointing out something on a form, and the cursor was right there with me!

Of course, I can't think of a single use for this, since:

a) it's such a massive, vertical screen that I've had to push it as far back into the corner as it will go, which is just over an arm's length away

b) my job has no requirements for a touch screen (although I do occasionally have to tidy up jpgs/pdfs using Paperport, and I can now use my finger instead of the mouse-moved eraser)

c) I'm rubbish at anything artistic...

But it seems such a waste - there must be something cool I can do with a big fancy touch screen! Any ideas...?
