I was trying to work out what plant might look purple, because there's definitely no heather around here - I think it might be the hedges that have a purple tinge to them in the photos? It's just the light and the winter-bareness of them, I think.

I still can't believe those deer have survived all these hundreds of years with love-heart white bottoms bobbing up and down whenever they run! To be fair, when I was trying to work out what kind of deer it was, none of the pics seems to have such pure white distinctive rumps as these chaps! *g*
