Virtual Office Friday 8th May
Friday, 8 May 2015 12:51 pmWell, today's about as depressing as I expected it to be, and in fact rather more so. How can there possibly be so many people in a country who are more afraid of other people than prepared to help ensure their well-being? Now that is, literally, frightening... So I'd better try and focus on smaller, better things.
(ETA - 'kin'ell! Both opposition leaders have resigned!)
(ETA2 - Yes! Yes and yes and yes! The vile Farage has also resigned! Let's hope the equivalent fall of nasty racist UKIP follows rapidly and hard! ETA3 - although that's not perhaps looking likely. Come on, people!)
Such as the most lovely feedback on Two on an Adventure Island, just exactly the kind of thing that I want to hear as a writer, this morning. Thank you, and especially for the perfect timing of posting it today! It's also the sort of thing that makes me want to write more, and I've been a bit flat about that this last week, so... *g*
And blimey Betty - you remember I sent off my passport renewal on Tuesday? Well, it was through first-class post, and here it is just three days later and I've just had my old passport returned to me with everything already in process! Now that, Aussie Consulate, is a bit bloody impressive, if you ask me. They chop the cover up when they return them, so it looks a bit sad, but I'm still glad to get them back. Now I just have to hope the new one's also quick!
I was up late today, having finally slept well last night - with my wee bedsocks and hot water bottle! - and finished Among Others again over breakfast. Divided opinions at the group last night, but more people liked it than I expected, although there were complaints about the way the character talked about the SF books she loved, and also about the fairy-element of the story. They liked the bit where the character's twin sister had been killed (*headdesk*). No wonder all those atrocious magazines about dead babies and car crash victims sell so well - I'll never understand people who prefer reading about that sort of thing than about new ideas and thoughts and ways of looking at the world... *sighs*

ali15on's lads-and-the-butterfly pics this morning (to the point that I began a wee ficlet about the pics, but have reluctantly had to abandon it now for work). So let's have some more lads in my flist, on this grey, grey day of despair...
