Not more flowers...? Yup! Aren't they pretty? *g* And all I did to earn those was have someone around for coffee and chat - very nice too! *g*

It's been quite the day - again... Woke up early, so I thought I'd have breakfast, go for a walk, and start work nice and early. Except that instead I checked the ferry timetables, emailed my cousin, booked me and my car onto a ferry to the IOM for Thursday-not-Friday, which required emailing to say I wouldn't make book group after all this year (but honestly, the different in prices between a Thursday and a Friday sailing is ridiculous), then had breakfast, then sent directions to friend who was coming over for long-promised coffee, then realised that the thing I'd got in my eye just after I showered felt worse not better, then started work but got distracted tidying up, then there was a delivery to do with horses (not for me), then friend came, then I realised again that eye wasn't getting better, and whatever it was felt like it moved, and ow!

So I checked with GP what you're supposed to do with eyes these days, then beetled down to the local minor injury unit before the end-of-school crowd could start falling over their feet etc. Happily they couldn't see anything either in my eye or scratched on it, and ohmigod they have the most amazing eye-numbing stuff, and it stopped hurting. Only temporarily, but it didn't hurt as much after either and though I can still feel it, it's much better. Phew! cos eyes... It felt like someone had put a tiny sharp stone under my eyelid, and it was just scraping around...

Anyway... home, v-late lunch, and work! Both do-able assignments today, so phew again, and I actually still finished just before dinner! And then I ended up playing on [livejournal.com profile] prosficindex, being linky and trying to be thinky, and to keep track... *g*

Did I mention I'm off to the Isle of Man for a week on Thursday? It's actually for a memorial service for my aunt, but it's been so long since I was over that I thought I'd stay on a bit. I've not taken time off work, so I'll have that to do - but it'll make a change to do it on the island (and on the boat - and then on the super-fast boat coming back. Two hours from the IOM?! To Heysham? Two hours?! I thought it must have been a typo, but I've just looked it up, and it turns out that the HSC Manannan" is a 96-metre (315 ft) wave-piercing high-speed catamaran car ferry". Blimey... Still not sure I believe the two hours, though, not from Douglas to Heysham... it's usually three and a half, and even the Liverpool Seacat (catamaran) crossing was just over two hours. Granted it's been a while since I was over... Well, we'll see! And maybe I'll dig out my ancient lads-in-the-IOM wip... *vbg*

Hope your Monday's been peaceful!
