366 Photos - 105/366 - A fast boat from Man...
Thursday, 14 April 2016 11:38 pmOh but I was up early today - 5am to catch the 8am boat from Douglas, and the mountain road still closed so I had to go round the coast... but I made it. *g*
Boarding the boat...
...which was actually the Seacat - a sea catamaran, the Manannnan. Instead of taking nearly four hours to do the Douglas-Heysham run it does it in two!
Pulling away from Douglas harbour...
Slane lhiat (goodbye), Isle of Man...
See the speed on her! *g* Whoooosh!
Back on the other side again...
Hello windfarm!

And then ever such a straight run down the motorways to Somerset too - I was at the supermarket just after 4pm, and home before five! I managed to get half my work done yesterday too, and then some on the boat, so just had to finish off tonight - no muss, no fuss it's been today, lovely!
Strange to be home - there's alot less people around, and alot less people in and out, and ever so quiet! I'll have to make me own breakfast in the morning, too... *g* But it's nice as well - there's lots of things I wanted to do on the island, and I wished I wasn't leaving so soon, but on the other hand it's also nice to be home!
Kys t'ou? (How are you?) (Sorry, you might have to put up with this a bit, cos they seem to be doing a push with Manx, and there were wee learn-Manx cards that I picked up in the library. My uncle speaks it, and my cousin's lodger as well, so they'd chat away when they got together - I've actually never heard Manx in conversation before either, so that was very cool (have a listen to some here if you're interested - scroll down and press play).
But for now - bed tonight, and catching up with lj (and everything!) tomorrow...
