Felt a bit odd that by the time I got out of Writing Group tonight, the world looked like this again
2016-10-05 NightCary

I thought I was doing so well today. I completed three separate proofreading assignments, then finished a piece of writing for Wednesday Writing Class - and yet I still didn't have time to finish the fourth proofreading doc before class - at 6pm. The trouble with four different proofreading assignments in one day is that you end up taking four times as long to get yourself into the writing-mindset of that many different authors so that you can work out what they mean and how they want to say it... and then if their English isn't great (though bear in mind that "isn't great" is only relative to "can-write-academic-level-English" in the first place - it's just that sometimes the academic-level bit can make it harder to work out what their generally very good English is trying to say...) that can take four times as long as well. Got home about 8.30pm, with a final 7000 words ahead of me, spent a wee while staring muzzily at the tiny font they'd used in the doc and trying to work out what the hell xxx xxxxx was, and then had to give up. Surely I'm too old to be working more than eight hours a day without being paid much larger sums of money for it...? *sighs*

On the other hand, once I'd decided to give up, I did rather enjoy The Great British Bake-Off. Trouble is, I want them all to win now - well, except maybe Candace, who strikes me as a wee bit... not smug, but... a bit too much about the presentation. I wanted Tom to win too, a bit, but he went tonight. And Rav was a sweetie, and he went last week... the down side of everyone on TGBBO being nice, is that they're nice and they have to stop being on the show... Also caught up Cold Feet (which I couldn't do yesterday cos - yup, I was proofreading), and that was rather good too. Plus I miss Manchester... *g*

And now I'm just rambling when I should be catching up on the last comments - which is the downside of keeping up with posting pics while trying to keep up with work, and... ack! *falls over own feet* Tomorrow is catching up with the work I didn't do tonight, as well as tomorrow's work, and book group in the evening. I need to finish the book! Aaaaack! *falls over everyone's feet, lies in puddles whimpering*

How're you doing...?!
