Sunday 17th January 2021 - Still winter?

I was a very good girl and paid my tax today, and for my reward I went off on a nice fresh walk in a slightly different direction - and look what I spotted!

The first daffs! (sorry about the unfocused one, it was a funny angle...)

There was a definite winter look still around... ... but I liked the sunshine cheer of this gorse on such a grey day, too.

Some ivy looking picture-skew by a bridge... ...and then snowdrops! The first snowdrops I've seen this year too! Again, not the best pic, but they were through someone's railing fence... *g*

And then on the last stretch home......I'm pretty sure that tree's thinking about buds... *g*

It felt cold when I first went out, but actually there was something of a spring feel in the air - not warm exactly, but... maybe it was just that the sun wasn't too thickly hidden, like it had taken off a layer in preparation... *g* There's lots of winter time left to get cold again, but it was also still light at 5pm today! I remember looking out my office window at a 4.11pm sunset not all that long ago. We're heading in the right direction! *g*
