Whee more Pros-y travel-y stuff today! And it revolved around things that looked like this...

elizabethoshea, brilliant star that she is, introduced us to a veggie pub that's actually about halfway between her neck of the woods and mine, and
msmoat and
magenta_blue and I settled in with an entire menu (Suffolk!) of veggie choice! for a good natter. And lovely it was too, although I was waddling somewhat when we were finally forced to leave because the pub was closing... *sighs* Mine was a celeriac, asparagus and chestnut pie, and a chocolate and caramel truffle box with what turned out to be incredibly delish vanilla ice cream...
Mind you, it was after 4pm at this point, and what with tomorrow being Monday and all... well, we took the pretty route home... *g*

...and I kept stopping to take more pictures... The sun was going down in a perfectly straight line! How could I not stop to take a picture? *g* And it rained, and it sunned, and there was lightning, and there were cracks of thunder, and then it all sunned again... *g*
And we kept driving past houses like this and wanting to live in them...

Aaaand... that's all. 'twas just a wee mini-trip this time, though perfectly formed... *g*

Date: Sunday, 7 June 2009 11:30 pm (UTC)Oh, those tarts look *delicious*! What was in the one on the left? It's just asparagus season here, so we've had all kinds of lovely asparagus dishes the past few weeks. :)

Date: Monday, 8 June 2009 12:09 pm (UTC)The tart on the left was
memine, and it was the one with celeriac, asparagus and chestnuts in a sort of white sauce... it was gorgeous! I think there was cumin involved too, which is often a good thing. *g* Bizarrely enough I often roast asparagus with other veggies, and it's yummy that way, but I really should cook more stuff... *g*no subject

Date: Tuesday, 9 June 2009 12:09 pm (UTC)Mind you, I was looking at old Women's Weeklies and things the other day, from the 1970s/1980s, wondering if some of those recipes might come in handy... Bloke wanted £1.00 for each old tatty mag though, so I didn't buy them at the time...

Date: Monday, 8 June 2009 08:12 pm (UTC)It sounds like you've enjoyed excellent food and countryside, and above all, excellent company. What a literary circle you must have made, very high-minded at all times I'm sure. *g*
