Whee more Pros-y travel-y stuff today! And it revolved around things that looked like this...

[livejournal.com profile] elizabethoshea, brilliant star that she is, introduced us to a veggie pub that's actually about halfway between her neck of the woods and mine, and [livejournal.com profile] msmoat and [livejournal.com profile] magenta_blue and I settled in with an entire menu (Suffolk!) of veggie choice! for a good natter. And lovely it was too, although I was waddling somewhat when we were finally forced to leave because the pub was closing... *sighs* Mine was a celeriac, asparagus and chestnut pie, and a chocolate and caramel truffle box with what turned out to be incredibly delish vanilla ice cream...

Mind you, it was after 4pm at this point, and what with tomorrow being Monday and all... well, we took the pretty route home... *g*

...and I kept stopping to take more pictures... The sun was going down in a perfectly straight line! How could I not stop to take a picture? *g* And it rained, and it sunned, and there was lightning, and there were cracks of thunder, and then it all sunned again... *g*

And we kept driving past houses like this and wanting to live in them...

Aaaand... that's all. 'twas just a wee mini-trip this time, though perfectly formed... *g*

OMG, that food looks amazing! I sincerely hope it's the pub [livejournal.com profile] elizabethoshea is proposing to take us to next month when we go visiting!

And yay for what sounds like a fab day!

So nice that you could all meet up at such a nice place!

It really was lovely - waah for being back at work! Terrible sandwich selection and major lack of Pros-y chat!

Oh, those tarts look *delicious*! What was in the one on the left? It's just asparagus season here, so we've had all kinds of lovely asparagus dishes the past few weeks. :)

Hellooo [livejournal.com profile] lysimache! And [livejournal.com profile] sineala, whose story I was working on this morning! *g*

The tart on the left was me mine, and it was the one with celeriac, asparagus and chestnuts in a sort of white sauce... it was gorgeous! I think there was cumin involved too, which is often a good thing. *g* Bizarrely enough I often roast asparagus with other veggies, and it's yummy that way, but I really should cook more stuff... *g*

It all looks lovely!

I'm currently all excited because I've half arranged to meet [livejournal.com profile] kiwisue for dinner in Sydney when I go to Oz at the end of September (well - meeting is arranged but we have yet to finalise the details) and I have promised to take my Pros DVDs for a full day's viewing with an Ozzie friend who hasn't seen the lads since the original series.

I wonder if any of our food will be that pretty?

(Okay, yes you are and end of September... *g*) Yeay meeting up with [livejournal.com profile] kiwisue and yeay for Pros-y reminding of friends how gorgeous the lads are! Have a meat pie with tomato sauce for me... *g* Not pretty at all, but I remember them being tasty... *g*

Oh look at the lovely food! I have been waxing lyrical about that place ever since coming back, and now of course I could eat my way delightedly through the entire menu, when not suffering from the perils of Enthusiastic Wine Drinking syndrome. *g* Next time for sure!

It was just the perfect pub, wasn't it! Maybe we should eat our way through the menu and then go Drinking Enthusiastically... *g*

Oh, and having just read [livejournal.com profile] foxcat74's weekend post, we should so go to Liverpool! *vbg*

You are trying to turn me, arent you??? LOL But I have to say, it all looks delish! Including the chocolate-boxy cottages *g*

Hee - I am, I am! *vbg* The chocolate-box-y cottages were fab...

Mind you, I was looking at old Women's Weeklies and things the other day, from the 1970s/1980s, wondering if some of those recipes might come in handy... Bloke wanted £1.00 for each old tatty mag though, so I didn't buy them at the time...

Thanks for the lovely minitravelblog.

It sounds like you've enjoyed excellent food and countryside, and above all, excellent company. What a literary circle you must have made, very high-minded at all times I'm sure. *g*
