It's frustrating, isn't it, because you don't want to be a spoilsport but you just NEED TO SLEEP! Happened here one Saturday night; when I finally crawled off to bed at midnight the house was shaking to the sounds of Led Zeppelin. Lying in bed I could sing along with every song, it was that loud. And when I got up at 5am the next morning they were still going strong. And that party was being held at a house in the next street! I don't know how their near neighbours managed.
Bit short notice for you, as you say. At least with more prior warning you could have organised something to get you out of the house.
