Love the starry lamp! And I wouldn't get too worried about food pictures. I'm sure half the irritation is due to photographers just being silly about it all: flash photography bouncing off windows is a far cry from a discreet snap. I think you probably feel more obvious when you're on your own, though...

Coincidentally, I am looking at a Kobo too. I love my Kindle, but the controlled-by-one-company aspect troubles me. Both are designed for holding novel-lenght books, so downloading lots of short fanfic has some filesystem issues. I am going to ask over on the kindledfans comm for Kobo comments, I think...
