No, I don't think so - not really, not more than anything else the supermarkets latch onto. I don't think I'd ever heard of it outside books when I was growing up (though it turns out my ancestors were almost all Scottish, and in fact one of them was even an actual poet friend of Robbie Burns, so... *g*). I only really notice it now cos I discovered that I liked haggis when I was up in Scotland nearly a dozen years ago now (at first the regular kind, but now the veggie kind) and now that you can get it in the supermarkets it tends to be Burns Night when it's more prominently displayed and I tend to buy it. I have bought it at other times of the year though, when I've spotted the corner they've hidden it in. The fact that I completely forgot to eat it yesterday should give you a clue as to how much noise is made about it in general, cos nothing reminded me until far too late - bearing in mind that I don't watch much telly, mind...
