You're right about 'big scheme', but little things matter too. Londonronnie's right about the cop shop, give them a bell, someone might have handed it in. Someone once returned a credit card I left in a hire car before I'd even realised it was missing. Good things do happen.

But have a wail and a rant first. You're entitled.

And if it's gone for good, you didn't do anything stupid, someone else did something rotten.
