It is misery-making, isn't it... and I'm one of those people who kept everything in in, cos I never knew when I was going to need it. I live the other side of the country now, but I always had my Oyster card in there! I woke up with that can't-quite-believe-it feeling still too - had to go and look in the car again in daylight, but it still wasn't there... I shall have to hope for people now, won't I...
