The Big Pros Watch - Long Shot

Might I just say first - gaaaaah, lj! I got the ghost-y post up, but it's back to taking forever to open a page. Still. *takes deep breaths* Longshot. (Gawd, I 'ope it's Longshot, I can't get onto lj to double-check, but I did look it up at The Hatstand...)
Ah, the vast metropolis that is... some far sunnier city than London. And some foreigners (you can tell cos of the clothes and the... hookah? in the background) are watching our lads on tv! Smart men, I would be too... oh no, they're watching Cowley. And hee - it's Trigger! (Oooh - irony of his later character name, compared to his role in this programme!) Ah, some very wise chat about various fluffy animals...
And the obligatory daughter. Well, fairly obligatory. Driving very fast in a convertible - clearly one of the young, wealthy and free... A very sinister shot of cotton wool... She does very well getting out of that low car so elegantly, I must say... oops, to a bad end though... And off they go. Ooh - Trigger doing a funky accent, and being just a tad condescending! "Banal questions..." indeed!
Yeay! Lads! Music! Run Doyle, like the wind! Anarchy, acts of terror, crimes against the public... hmmn, compared to those crimes against... erm...? Oh, Cowley
Whee, our young lads!
Doyle, lost at - squash? "Again"?! Oh, Doyle... and he's being all naive around a very-knowing Bodie. Oh my... and those trousers, what is going on there, our Doyle? Anyone'd think that being with Bodie makes...
Heee! "Fancy a work up?" - "Out" - "...out!" Doyle fighting the girl, but looking to Bodie for every move! Ah, Bodie being suave and domineering... Doyle looking way too interested in that aspect of it... Cos, you know, it's not about dating the girl, it's about... well, we know...
And see how quickly they're back to best friends.... Doyle teasing Bodie, even in front of Cowley. Bodie's being the cynical one, Doyle's looking reasonably keen...
Trigger putting together a very big ladder, in the middle of the day, on a fence patrolled by... well, blokes in gear. At least Trigger is wearing his smart shoes to go up that ladder...
Lads up high! Doing accents! How old are they? *g* Love that they're so casual looking about it... professional moment about the field of fire, and then... yeah, playing with pretend guns... *vbg* Oh, but see 'em skinning down the scaffolding...*g*
Poor old gormless tommy - he's bound to come to a bad end. Well, he's a tommy. With a rat in his hand... Good job Cowley's so much smarter than our lads - than our Doyle, who thought the rat "Seems likely". Cowley doesn't like rats - wonder if that's ever come up in fic? Mind you, I don't read much Cowley-fic, so perhaps it has...
Ah, the harsh law of the east - of Morani in this case...
Love Bodie's smile as he greets Doyle at the window, his casual lean against it... Doyle still being the straight-man, to Bodie's comedian... "... the NAAFI canteen..." *g* Oh, and it's Doyle who's hungry here, not Bodie! Look! *jumps up and down at the sound of fanon creaking with fragility*
Heeeee! Lads in twin red tracksuits! Heeeee! Hmmn, you know, seeing them together, I'd say that Doyle's shoulders there actually look maybe a smidgeon wider than Bodie's... *pokes at other fanon-type things* Well skinnier hips, mind... *g*
Ah, the hapless tommies again...
Oh I dunno about that hip thing though... *twists head to see shot of lads running away from the camera again* (bugger, doesn't work, I need to use rewind instead...) Hmmmn, but I mean... well, imagine putting that red-clad leg (Bodie's) against that red-clad leg (Doyle's) and then... no, okay, that's all distracting too. We'll consider size at some later time... *g*
Oh, lads with guns, and doing jumping over balustrades, and, and, oh, just stuff. Love how Doyle gives a huge warning roar of "Grenade!" What is it that Bodie shouts, though?! "Down!"? Love the lads getting to the wire, Bodie man-handling Doyle around and back to the next job. Dead tommies...
Ah, clever Cowley... the lads reporting in though, all out of breath. Ooh, Doyle likes being told to find Ramos - and Bodie's got his hands all over Doyle, urging him on again! Yes! *vbg*
Hapless crims, next... Love the lighting they're using to show them approaching the house - the romance of moonlight?! Or just midsummer's twilight glow? *g*
Hee - Doyle (in fresh clothes) being grumpy on the phone! *g* Sitting very slouched on that chair too - look at him, legs set wide under the desk, elbow on the back of the chair. Bodie looking gorgeously amused, and a big smile from Doyle... Bodie also looking much more natty, mind, in brown cords and brown leather jacket - and poloneck. *g* Finally, Doyle rubbing off on him (heh) so that he's starting to look just a bit more casual...
The crim's got visitors. Oh, I do like that colour plaid on Doyle, and he's got his mean on... "Constable"... Lads playing off each other very nicely, so that just everyone's out of breath at the end of that little interrogation!
Ah, Doyle in the bushes... Bodie - fresh clothes, casual again - brown checked shirt... "Shades of Dallas" says Cowley - I have visions of him at the end of a long, long day, collapsing in front of the telly with his whisky and his Dallas, wondering whatever Sue Ellen's going to do next... *g* Oh, and the lads together doing banter in the bushes - lovely!
Doyle over the wall. Forwards?! Where's that cameraman?! Ah, Bodie does a much better, more lingering job... Look at them, the lads pressed so closely together against that wall... *g* Hee - Boys' Own clambering around on tree branches and all! I used to love games like that! Hee - love how the lads dive either side of the path at a noise, and the crim just stands uselessly in the middle until Bodie pulls him over!
Hee - what's that look Doyle gives Bodie when he says "I've got a better head for heights..."?! There's so a story behind that. And oh! this time for Doyle grabbing Bodie, holding him still, hand-to-bare-skinned-wrist... *sighs happily*
Bodie being sneaky inside, Doyle doing big run across the garden. Hee for the perfect timing at the door, and was that a nice smile from Doyle? Love them backing each other up as they search, back to back, Bodie able to stop Doyle with a hand to his shoulder, and convey just so much in it. Now that is fanon telepathy.
Ah, speeding along in the Dolomite, back to the conference... Love that car! Maybe I should get one of those! Yes! More Bodie hands all "helping" Doyle on his way! And silly accents again. They're starting to have fun together... (Okay, I'm defaulting in my head back to production order - sorry! How about this - much scope for on-again-off-again romance via transmission order?!)
Cowley explaining to us watchers exactly how the... wait, is it the next morning? Are the lads wearing the same clothes? What is Doyle doing in that filing cabinet?! Looking for expense chits, perhaps... *g* Ah, Cowley explaining to the lads exactly how he knows the American wasn't the target. (Actually I think that's a not-bad plot twist - except that they'd already told us about it, of course, so less with the twist...)
Ah, the A-Z, held nice and clearly up by the baddie. Because if you were lost, you'd stop in a quiet back alley and knock on a random door. Stoopid CI5 agent, falling for that!
Doyle being cautious, Bodie being daring, backing up Cowley's plan. Ah, the broken lift - the only one, I think, despite fanon again (I sometimes think there's not a single lift in London that works...) Where's Freddy?! And why are the lads so desperate to find him?! Good job they are, of course. Doyle leaping into action - picking up the phone... *g* He catches Bodie up on the stairs very quickly though... Love the lads through that door.
Cowley - "Deal with that" - and so the lads do. Hee - is that Bodie putting on a Chicago gangster accent?! "So talk, fast!" Ooh, Doyle pulling Bodie off - one of the few times, I think, if not the only one.
Who's that older agent being sent off on Cowley's special mission? Someone who the "combat school" can manage without for a couple of days... Looking very suave and Bond-like, with that nod. See, lots of the agents on this show are older, in fact...
The lads still in the same clothes - ah, zooming off to the rescue. Bodie jiggling in his seat to make the car go faster... I never quite understand why the foreman doesn't tell the guy with the thingie-ball to stop because people have just run into the building! Quite dramatic, mind - look at our lads go! And so in synch... Wait, Doyle touching Bodie again, Bodie kind of throwing him off actually - doesn't need any help, him - but it's Doyle being protective here. *pokes a bit more at fanon*
Ah, here's the lads back, looking all dejected. Lovely shades of brown they're both in... *g* Doyle looks back at Bodie, too... and then they're both beautifully amused.
Oh Bodie, what is that approach to Susie?! And hee - Doyle all northern - "kid"! But again, it's all about them, cos Doyle has to look back to Bodie in fact, it's all about them each knowing what the other one's going to be doing, innit... *g*
Oh, yeay Pros Watch! Not one of my faves again, Long Shot, but I can live with it. Some nice lads-y bits actually, and actually much touching, more than you'd think. Reminds me of the other sniper one... erm... with Giorgio, and how much touching there was there, in the end.
Right, let's see if lj'll let me post again, eh?! And then, I think, bed. I'm a little tired today - and I've another house to look lively for tomorrow night! Another unfurnished one too, although it's in town, so... Still, we'll see!
