Friday lads picspam

Because it's been a long time since I did one of these, and because I still have the weekend free, and I'm also feeling better from my cold (*touches lots of wood*).
Our lads on the cover of a magazine!
In fact, if we look a bit closer, there's our lads being very close and rather pressed together on the cover (even if they are looking a bit grim too!)
And inside another issue of the same mag - a Pros quiz!
I'm sure we'd get all these right, but imagine when all this was new information! (You can click through to get a really big version with readable questions).
Anyone fancy a highland fling? (Wish I'd found this to post last night, for Burns Night!)
And Doyle, perhaps waiting to be flung. *g*
I've also found a work-around for my lj issues, although it's not a good one. It looks like it's the https that's causing problems with some ljs/comms - if I take the "s" off "https" in the url bar, then I can get to the lj/comm I want (e.g.
the_safehouse and
ci5_boxoftricks). But why doesn't it affect all lj sites and comms? And why does it happen on my phone and my laptop if I'm signed in - but also on my laptop at least when I'm signed out? Surely if it was a laptop-related issue, it wouldn't also happen on my phone? But if it was specific to my lj account, then why would it happen when I'm signed out?! And why, in all those cases, does it seem to be just me? I think my next experiment will be to go and connect via a different wireless system somewhere - a fair excuse to go and have a coffee somewhere tomorrow, maybe! - in case it's to do with my mobile provider's connection...)
(Now I've also noticed that not all of the lj pages that I can get to are coming up as secure https - some have the "info" symbol from google instead (e.g. my communities feed). If anyone has any ideas, or knows anything about this sort of thing, I'm all ears! And if anyone else's various lj pages say anything other than secure https in the url bar...)

Date: Saturday, 27 January 2018 11:34 am (UTC)Sorry to hear your LJ woes continue. :-( It does sound like it's something to do with your ISP if it still happens when you're not logged in, so trying connectivity through a different ISP could be telling. Another option would be to disable wireless internet on your phone, so it's forced to connect via the mobile phone company's network instead of whatever local router you might be using, and see if the problem still persists.

Date: Saturday, 27 January 2018 10:16 pm (UTC)How annoying with the LJ pages! Did you find out if it's your connection or LJ in general?
The only problem I'm aware of is that all the links pointing from an LJ post to AO3 have a wrong URL for me. They start with https://http://, and I have to take the http:// off in the navigation bar, to get to the stories.
I hope your cold is gone, and the new baby and mother are healthy and well!
