I feel like I haven't posted for ages, though I don't think that's true really...

Hooray 1 - It's Tuesday, and I'm going away on a wee holiday-type jaunt tomorrow, and it's going to look something along these lines...

...and I can't wait - yeay! It's just a mini-jaunt, Wed-Sat(-ish) but it will be full of Simon Amstell, and London and my favourite Stonehenge and Avebury and Glastonbury, and then there may be a tad of fossil hunting down Lyme Regis way, and there will be much pottering around the countryside with M in Little Car, and staying in B&Bs and rummaging in interesting places. Yeay!

Hooray 2 - Little Car's oil leak hasn't exploded to disaster after all, and she can drive us all around the interesting places after all - yeay! The Little Man That Comes Out To Look At Cars popped in yesterday on his way to a band, and we agreed that actually it was probably a loose dipstick that caused apparent oil explosion - and although that may be symptomatic of nasssty gases in Little Car's tum, it should all be okay, and we'll just keep an eye on...

Hooray 3 - After months of faffing around, I finally got in touch with my Alaska bank, and told them to stop stealing money from my account in the form of "monthly service fees" (in order to send my statements to the wrong address), and they emailed back and said sorry and gave me most of the money back. Phew. See - stop procrastinating, me!

Hooray 4 - Eighties season on Beeb 2! Wasn't Worried About the Boy just the best thing you've seen on telly for ages?

Douglas Booth did a brilliant job as Boy George, and the programme that came on afterwards about sex and music in eighties UK was ace too, and covered all the bits that I missed before I got here quite nicely, cheers! *g* And then last night, the Charles and Di wedding drama (not about them, but about a family in a small Welsh village) - also seriously good. Though it's Worried About the Boy that's got me riffling through my eighties-type CDs... *g*

Hooray 5 - There is a Hooray 5 that I want to add, but I must wait until I'm allowed to. But Hooray! *g*

Hooray 6 - only 3 minutes left until I finish work for the week and go on holidaaaaaaay!

Hmmn - where should I kill time tomorrow between getting to London and checking in B7B and then meeting fab friend ready to see Amstell? There's always the Brit Museum, cos it's been a while since I've been in, and that's near where I'll be... Any fab ideas? What's going on on London right now? Anything cool? Ooh - if anyone London has time for a coffee tomorrow...? *g*

As I was writing my other post at work today, I had the most fab email, and it was from our Jojo, and she's actually written me a ficlet as a present, and it's the bestest wee ficlet, and it makes me very very happy, and I think it's the first ever ficlet I've ever been given, so that was just even more fab! *g*

And she's said I could post it here, so... Yeay! *vbg*

Bound in Leather
by Jojo

Bodie stretched his legs out and put them on the coffee table.

A small child holding a large yellow bag wandered in front of the widescreen TV. She looked at Bodie suspiciously. Then at the TV.

Bodie smiled. “Waiting for the cartoons,” he said.

“Out of there!” a parent snapped. The child’s arm was jerked and the bag crackled. The small and perfectly-formed living-room fell quiet. Bodie’s eyes strayed to the empty bookshelves and then back to the fake TV.

“Kramfors,” a voice said somewhere behind him.

Bodie smirked to himself. “Nah. You’ll only get three on here.”

A cuff. “It’s leather. You’ll like it.”

Bodie leaned his head right back. It was not a bad view, Doyle upside down with his reading glasses on the end of his nose. “You know,” he said. “I think you’ve said that to me once before.”

Doyle rounded the end of the sofa and sat down next to him. He threw the catalogue on to the coffee table and shifted closer.

“The buckles were a bloody nuisance.”

“Mmmm. You looked good though.”

“Felt pretty good too.” Doyle laid a hand on his knee. Squeezed it.

There was a pause.

“So,” Bodie said. “Kramfors.”

“Nah,” Doyle responded. “Only get three on there.”

-ends-

Just... how brilliantly perfect is that? *sighs happily* Doyle with reading glasses on the end of his nose. *sighs very happily* Bodie being accosted by suspicious children. *vbg indeed*

In other news - I might not take my lappie with me at all for the hol... We might go totally unplugged. Eeeeeeep! I shall print out my new fic and take it to cuddle!
