I feel like I haven't posted for ages, though I don't think that's true really...

Hooray 1 - It's Tuesday, and I'm going away on a wee holiday-type jaunt tomorrow, and it's going to look something along these lines...

...and I can't wait - yeay! It's just a mini-jaunt, Wed-Sat(-ish) but it will be full of Simon Amstell, and London and my favourite Stonehenge and Avebury and Glastonbury, and then there may be a tad of fossil hunting down Lyme Regis way, and there will be much pottering around the countryside with M in Little Car, and staying in B&Bs and rummaging in interesting places. Yeay!

Hooray 2 - Little Car's oil leak hasn't exploded to disaster after all, and she can drive us all around the interesting places after all - yeay! The Little Man That Comes Out To Look At Cars popped in yesterday on his way to a band, and we agreed that actually it was probably a loose dipstick that caused apparent oil explosion - and although that may be symptomatic of nasssty gases in Little Car's tum, it should all be okay, and we'll just keep an eye on...

Hooray 3 - After months of faffing around, I finally got in touch with my Alaska bank, and told them to stop stealing money from my account in the form of "monthly service fees" (in order to send my statements to the wrong address), and they emailed back and said sorry and gave me most of the money back. Phew. See - stop procrastinating, me!

Hooray 4 - Eighties season on Beeb 2! Wasn't Worried About the Boy just the best thing you've seen on telly for ages?

Douglas Booth did a brilliant job as Boy George, and the programme that came on afterwards about sex and music in eighties UK was ace too, and covered all the bits that I missed before I got here quite nicely, cheers! *g* And then last night, the Charles and Di wedding drama (not about them, but about a family in a small Welsh village) - also seriously good. Though it's Worried About the Boy that's got me riffling through my eighties-type CDs... *g*

Hooray 5 - There is a Hooray 5 that I want to add, but I must wait until I'm allowed to. But Hooray! *g*

Hooray 6 - only 3 minutes left until I finish work for the week and go on holidaaaaaaay!

Hmmn - where should I kill time tomorrow between getting to London and checking in B7B and then meeting fab friend ready to see Amstell? There's always the Brit Museum, cos it's been a while since I've been in, and that's near where I'll be... Any fab ideas? What's going on on London right now? Anything cool? Ooh - if anyone London has time for a coffee tomorrow...? *g*

Sounds like you're in for a lovely few days!

heh, I'm just halfway through watching "Worried about the Boy" on iPlayer and loving it SO MUCH was tempted to post about it - glad you got in first. Sadly now the kidlets are home from school I'll have to wait until after they've gone to bed to watch the rest.

Your holiday plans sound wonderful - have a great time.

Edit: Things on in London (which are not at all rock'n'roll)- the current big public exhibition at the British Library is historical maps.

Oh yeay, someone else loves it - so glad! I must get back to thinking about it myself, I was all happy then (*headdesk*) - maybe I'll have a quick flash through iPlayer tonight too... *g*

And, being not very rock and roll, I rather like historical maps... they're so pretty, and they have monsters being here... *g*

Oh, sounds like you have a great little trip ahead of you!
Enjoy!
Those pics are very enticing!
And yay for the bank actually reimbursing your money!

Yeay bank indeed - though they had no right to start stealing it from me without notice to me in the first place! They seem to have introduced a new "type" of account without telling me (unless it was supposedly via the many statements that didn't get through until my postie sussed out who they were supposed to be for - lucky our village is a small one, it was basically just my name and the name of the village!)

And yeay trips! You'll be seeing it all very soon too... *vbg*

Ooh, it is here too actually! And that's right - Lyme Regis is rather heading down your way, isn't it... Though me in shorts? That'd just be cruel... *g*

Yay for jaunts, and cars that can handle jaunts, and friends to look forward to, and sights to see! (Also money staying put. *g*) Have a grand time! I'm very envious of the Brit Museum time you might have. It's been years and years since I've been there!

Yeay and thank you! It's been quite a while since I've been to the Brit Mus myself, actually - and I'm sure I didn't see all of it last time I was there! (I also adore the Natural History Museum - that's what took me to Alaska in the first place, via a photo exhibition entry of the northern lights in Denali Park!

Definitely yay for the bank, for a change (oh, I had a banking scam recently - on the phone! As opposed to from Nigeria et al, by email. They were trying to say they could get my bank charges refunded ... but they thought I had a "zip code" .... in the uk ....) and yay for holidays!!! Have a good one, won't you! *g*

I've just discovered (via the Dave Mathews site, iirc) that I live about three blocks from a location. One that was used for about three seconds, but still ... *bg* And now I can't remember which ep it was - but I'll find it again any minute ...

oh, did you get a msg today? about fun stuffs.

Oh, I think I might have been phoned up by that scam! I thought it must have been one, but I didn't have time to hit the button you were supposed to hit to find out more about how to get the bank charges back... Cheeky!

Mind you, that Alaska bank of mine recently sent me an SSAE to return an option about overdrafts. They very thoughtfully included extra stamps, since my address was abroad. Extra American stamps. *headdesk* And bless 'em... somehow... *g*

And ooh - which scene in Takeaway?! You'll have to show us! *g*

Love the extra stamps .... US ones!

Sadly it wasn't a scene with B and/or D in it, just some bad guys in a car for a handful of seconds - so not one of the greats, really! :-( *g*

Ooh, what a brave little car! Didn't I say I hoped it would be something simple like a slipped clip? Clip/dip(stick) ... very similar. I should have been a mechanic. *g*

'Hooray' no.5 sounds intriguing. When will we hear all about it?

Have a fabulous time.
