You know, and stuff like that.

Well, not so much about the rain actually, although it well and truly is up this end of the country... My moleskins got all soggy on the way in to work, and the train was delayed, and the person with the key wasn't here and... well mostly I just want more good coffee but that won't happen in this building. So I'm rambling to you lot instead! Erm... what do I have to say for myself?

First off, much kudos to [livejournal.com profile] shooting2kill who spotted Alice Krige (Diana Molner in Operation Susie) as the wife of Gerald Feddens in Line of Beauty. In case you missed her (like I did): Diana Molner grown up. Pros is still, apparently, all around me...

And above me right now. I came away from Nattercon (which was fabulous - thank you to everyone who was there!) with a ridiculous amount of fic and zines, which is now weighting down the top bunk of the shoebox I currently call home... I just hope my landlord isn't the snoopy type! And yeah, god knows how I'm gonna get it to the other side of the world with me (and all around this country for that matter!) But I would like to point out, yet again, that Pros fans are absolutely among the nicest people in this world. Don't let anyone tell ya otherwise!

So I read Journey West by Maiden Wyoming the other day. Not my type of fic, I have to say, the lads were a bit American for my taste (well, alot American) and the attempted Brit-isms were just too off for me to be able to handle it very well.

Then I read The Highwayman by O.Yardley, which was pressed into my hands in the dealer's room at Nattercon and thank you! to the person who did that. A jolly romp indeed, with lots of fab dashing types, frills and flounces and lashes of good sex.

And now I'm on Seven Nights in Bangkok by Karen Miller - brilliant so far. It's like being sucked into an ep. I'm not even sure if it's gonna turn out to be slash, but there's definitely some pre-slash happening, which'll do me if it has to. But really, I'm loving the writing, it's totally them, their reactions are just right and even Cowley is good. If anyone can point me in the direction of any more Karen Miller fic I would be very happy. Even, I suspect, if it does turn out to be gen...

Erm... what else? It's looking like I shall be on the move again in a few weeks, though I'm not yet sure where to. London? Isle of Man? Somerset? Maybe even all three... I now, thanks to my gorgeous brother, have a new-old laptop with a wireless card, but what I don't have is internet access at home (I think I told you about the landlord that doesn't believe in computers *rolls eyes*) And in order to do this online exam marking thing-y in a few weeks I need hot and cold running internet again (oh, I do miss my cabin!) so... We shall see!

And now I really must get back to work... Oh! The spiders! See... you know spiders in the bathtub in the morning? Well - there definitely wasn't one there when I began my shower yesterday. Definitely. But when I turned the water off and reached for my towel... there he was, big as a big ol' spider, sitting at the non-plughole end of the bath. So he couldn't have come up the plughole. And I'm sure I would've seen him on the gleaming white ceiling. And I'm fairly sure he couldn't have been on the towel I brought in with me, which means he was either dangling from the ceiling the whole time I was, y'know, moving around all vulnerable-like, or else he teleported in. And I don't actually mind spiders, but faced with the idea of where he could have landed if he dangled in from a length of web, I think I prefer the idea that he teleported. Yeah.
