Runner! I love Runner!
Ah, the gun shop - scary men in masks, very scared man who's surely to scaredy too be allowed to own a gun shop...
And Doyle in a car! What's he eating?! And talking with his mouth full... *g* Love how he stops chewing for a moment when he realises what the call's about! There's the Escort, streaking along far too late to stop the bad guys in the battered blue van...
Awww - Doyle calls in to let Bodie know where he's going! Love the little jump he gives after dashing into the gunshop too! Immediately takes charge... Oh, and here's Bodie in his gorgeous red and cream again... Doyle comes out to meet him too, and they get straight to work - lovely stuff!

Credits - is it me, or are they looking especially sunny today?! *g*
Back to the van, parking up by a lovely sunny lake, in the middle of broad daylight... hmmn - clever bad guys?
Ah, Doyle all cynical about the way gunshops stock illegal arms, Bodie all professional and cool about the coded call and the raid - so certain already that it's the Organisation (oh, come on Clemens, really - the Organisation?!)
And the baddies doing some lovely panic - even in a white-collared blue-striped yuppy-type grandad shirt!
Bodie all told off by Cowley for presuming - Doyle's watching him... ah, Bodie's watching Doyle as he reads off the list... there's a togetherness about them again here that I've missed the last few eps - watching each other all through the workings out...

Except that Cowley sends Bodie off - oh, look at Doyle's face there, all cross-armed and cross, he is... Bodie pushes off though... there's something so going on between them this ep, such a backstory somewhere... *g*

And canon-threat from Cowley - "Stand on anyone's toes, and next week you'll be pen pushing"!
Ah, Morgan - and Doyle all full of lies "I'm not flying the flag"... Gorgeous place that Morgan's got there... Can't work out Doyle's tactics here, he's saying that he's all sympathetic to Morgan - but he's still insisting on "Question and answer time"... I wonder if they were mates, Morgan and Doyle - presumably so, since Alice was upset that Doyle hadn't been to the christening...
Canon that they have poker sessions at Christmas...
Doyle's still in that grey sweatshirt too!
And Doyle tries Morgan's ex-wife too - Alice. How lovely is that park - England at its sunniest! Doyle's doing some lovely leaning against that bench...

Eeep - "It's a boy..." Doyle trying so hard, not getting anywhere... and resorting to being all hard in the middle, as if that might help... Alice knows better than to let him get to her - knows all the tactics, she does...
I like Alice - she's got a great line in piss off Doyle! Doyle rejected again at the phone box... Rejected he is - wondering if he's been betrayed, perhaps...
The bad guys again... Ah, the old gas meter trick works on the bad guys too! *g* Things are hotting up for Duffy...
Oh, I hate this bit - apart from the fact that Bodie looks fab in those glasses... *g*

But his whole heavy-handed raid on the bookies just doesn't make any sense to me... My that boy can run and jump though... (mistyped that as "run and hump" at first... *g*)

He's got a lovely line in instinct as well - flushes Filo out without any problems! And that lovely amused smile...

Except... then we're back at a violent interogation in the bookies - why would he do that?!
Cowley and Doyle come in to break it all up though - Doyle hiding unobtrusively behind the doorway while Cowley puts paid to the whole thing... Cowley throwing him right in it though - and Doyle knows he has, rolling his eyes like that!
Love Bodie's little kick of the chair, the way he's sort of at home with Doyle despite what's just happened. Such trust there, somehow...
And heee for Doyle's wink as he invites Bodie out drinking - not that Bodie's impressed! Not letting himself be made up to? More backstory... *g*
As they come out of the last pub - sort of together but tetchy somehow - Doyle sort of trying, Bodie not quite having any of it...
If you look very carefully, Doyle reaches out and taps Bodie's arm as they're walking up...

And Bodie taps Doyle...

Doyle's casual scratching of his back as they stand there together... *sighs happily*...

Bodie all sarcastic about the idea of Doyle coming with him but... they can't quite be anti-each other though - Hee for "Shall never be able to look a ginger beer in the face again" - and the look between them there!

Bodie looking rather gorgeous in the bar with Sylvie - Sylvie's not fooled - flirts right back...

As good as thingie is (Ed Devereaux? But he's got to be some relation to Sam Neil!) I'm not quite sure why an Australian is heading up an Irish Nationalistic group...
And Bodie's been tabbed playing on the Organisation's territory... Out he goes to meet the Toy Town Bandits... "'ey up" says our northern Doyle! *g* Ooh - they've both got changed! Bodie's got his grey jacket and a black shirt, Doyle's all red plaid jacket and jeans that I love!

Heeeeee for the attempted run across the yard, where they're sent back by gunfire! And Bodie loves it, doesn't he - see icon!
Yes! It is a kind of caress! No, it is! *g*

And off to the lake at last - oh, holsters, that posing... and Doyle pins it - "Bust up in the ranks? Could have a runner..."

Morgan looking none too happy to see Doyle again - he's civil though... I can see Morgan as a CI5 agent, you know - smart bloke, been wronged, but still knows which side is right... I wonder if he hopes he may yet be taken back, deep down... I like this image of the two of them together... very Alaskan somehow... whaddaya mean its just about plaid jackets and big trucks?! Yeah... *g*

Ah - half-naked Bodie... not that we can see much of him! Doyle's glee in getting him up, and the lovely lighting of that room - even if it is the wrong person that Doyle sits beside and teases with a latch key! (Hmmn - presumably it's Bodie's flat since Doyle found him there - but Bodie has a girl that he's trusted with a key... that rather busts up the idea that Bodie doesn't ever have steady girls, doesn't it...)

Suspicious looking characters hanging around a casino... van drives up... Never a good sign when men are putting on masks... and it all kicks off! There's Bodie, straight out of his Capri! Doyle too - again he lets the baddies drive around him - he's got a serious problem with "fat women in thin alleys", as they say... He's off after them though, windscreen shot out and all... 0ooh, it's been raining... the baddies pull the old switcharoo with the cars, Doyle catches them at it and backs up, but... he's lost them...
Wait! Wait - wait, wait! What's he doing getting changed in the car in the middle of a shoot out?! Look...! No wonder he lost the buggers at the changeover... *g*

Morgan with conflicted loyalties, although perhaps he's mostly worried about Sylvie and his quiet life..
Duffy's real nature is coming out - he wants Doyle...
Nice shot of the lads with Cowley - Doyle wearing his heels again, Bodie in flats - and very tight trousers... They've both got changed again too... either this is going on over a number of days, or... *g*

Ah, the lads standing together under the trees... adore Doyle's casual "I dunno" and "Yeah, alright" responses to Cowley! Bodie being all smartly quiet... *g*

Bodie out of the car first at the meet with Albie - has he got his cuffs undone again?! Love him peering over the car... and his smug Cheers! when Cowley gives good threat to Albie!
Ah - Morgan setting up a meet with Doyle - who's changed clothes again! I do love the textured stuff that he wears... *g*

Uh-oh, someone's got Morgan in his sights... and Doyle's car tyre... Which puts Doyle behind the car first, and then straight on the RT to 3.7...

And Bodie must have gone to pick him up, cos there they are with Cowley, looking at photographs... And Doyle's back in the green jacket! Did Continuity have a cold during this ep?!

Alice again! She's ever so bitter... she used to know Doyle - she doesn't any more...
Doyle's been staking out Sylvie - or perhaps Albie - he does scary-man-in-a-car all the way to the bus stop... "Do you want to jump in?" is not a good line to shout out to a girl from a car! Ooh - sarcastic Doyle - he's got Sylvie sussed... his empathy with people is all out though, this ep, isn't it!
Glover and Duffy squatting somewhere new... "and Doyle's out there... Ray Doyle..." Duffy's a good bad guy - wonder what he went on to do - must look him up! The genial threat of "Please, like a mate..."
Doyle's got changed again? Green jacket now... Bodie's in plaid! Eep - Bodie gives his opinion, Cowley looks right to Doyle... love the undercurrents in this ep - there's something going on with Cowley too, Cowley and our lads - he's not... it's not right with him and them...
Ooh - love Glover getting some backbone against Duffy! "No," he says, flat out... Duffy's madness is fabulous here... And such blue eyes... The article about Doyle's a bit odd though... *g*

Doyle driving alone again - hasn't he learned better than to go off to a meet on his own?! Didn't hewatch live through Hunter/Hunted?! He takes the high ground with the Escort... tramples his way so quietly through the dilapidated building, and then gives a roar! Here comes Sylvie... she doesn't know about Morgan... Doyle all matter of fact about Morgan being dead... How does he work that? What was their relationship? How does he distance himself like that?
Oh, love him so coolly coming out to return fire to Duffy... meaningful glimpse of that gun... Doyle's on the roof - high ground again, looking to see what's moving... Despite being the lower ground Duffy can sight in on him though... and that gorgeous Doyle roar - my god but he's a pair of lungs on him! Swinging around the scaffolding - oh god, and that look of pure fear on his face when he realises he's been found by Duffy, how perfect is that? You can feel it right along with him...

A brief outlet of it all - "Yeah... Duffy... old pal"... and then he's down to help the girl, and then on to more important things when Sylvie tells him about the bomb - all practicalities, he is...
Ohmigod, how much do I love Doyle's child-tantrum-y, foot-stomp-y gritted-teeth "Bodie!" when Bodie doesn't answer him straight away on the RT?! Alot - that's how much! *g*

Roar from Bodie as well at the car park, to get the bystanders to keep back, and he's off straight away to find the bomb... Doyle arrives, leaps into action...
Adore their low-voiced discussion of what to do with the bomb when they find it - Bodie trying desperately to diagnose the type... Oh god, what does Doyle say to Bodie before Bodie says "Pull it"? "Listen to your gut"? Something like that? Or what?! I can't make it out - waaah! But their implicit trust in each other - whatever they're doing, they're doing it together, they've faith in each other here, to the very, final end...

And of course they do it - they do it because they're our lads, and they laugh, and they stand so close together to talk to Cowley - Doyle pressing right into Bodie - Bodie's look when Doyle tells Cowley it was "get me and..." - and Doyle looks to Bodie, who grimaces away at the end, and all the time, pressed right in close together... *g*

I do like this ep - I always have. It was one of the first that I ever ficced, actually, 2005 it was, in a basement flat in a town in Alaska - not seen the light of day, and not likely to either, as it was more of a Doyle-thinking-it-through thing than an actual fic - nothing happens. But I've always been rather caught by this ep - so much going on, so many undercurrents from so many people. So much to write!
The other cause of much happy? It's a Bank Holiday tomorrow, so I can stay up screencapping as long as I want! *vbg*
...okay, I may have got a little over-extravagent with that... too many caps, melting eyes, I've got to go to bed - but I've done it! I've done a proper commentary post again, finally! *g*
Ah, the gun shop - scary men in masks, very scared man who's surely to scaredy too be allowed to own a gun shop...
