Yeay, finally Takeaway, one of my favourites... *g*

Oh, the rooves of London - looking down over the market... which market?! Anyone know?!

And scary local guy, and tough local guy, and... ah, the "good" guys... Uh-oh, it's the fuzz! And a naked girl... bet that had Mary Whitehouse upset... And erk, it's The Sweeney apparently! Oh, love the chimneys too - how gorgeous is that... Of course you should never, never hide anything important in the rubbish...

And uh-oh, our Mr Ray Doyle is in trouble... I'd love some backstory to Doyle and "Johnny Chong", actually... another interesting character that I've never seen in fic!

And oh, sunrise over the squat... all soft light... There's something lovely and atmospherically London about this ep...

...and our Bodie, all awake and lurking... Oh, and all stoned and slouching... *vbg* And Scouse-ish, and yet slightly... posh... *g*

Love his exchange with Young Lad - all cynical and 'ard... except for his description of Liza's father - "a funny little crumpled man" - who put that in? Lovely it is, but... *g*

And especially for [livejournal.com profile] jojosimco... *g*

And for no real reason...

And Cowley off to the American... embassy? Apparently they have no control over the temperature of the building - it's all about the computers! Although CI5's computers don't seem to need such gentle treatment... *g* Esther... clever lass - who said women were portrayed badly on Pros?

Ooh, and Cowley dobs Doyle in, and... oh, Doyle on the fruit stand, and here's our black Bodie... love that the lads meet at the market, and how easy are they with each other? And how long must they have been undercover to set all this up?

That's the trouble with you, sailor... Just... *vvvbg* And oh, what's that fic that's the "translation" of the lads' conversation here?! I know it, I love it - but what's it called and who wrote it?! *vbg*

Doyle pushing the cart - love it...

And Doyle playing football with the kids - "Ray" - "Ray" - "Ray"!

Love his wariness at the door...

...and the martial arts! Straight into the aggro too - with a touch of Brummie - "Who's your friend, little Mr Echo?" *g* "You 'aven't told me yet what you're 'ere for!" - dropping aitches is canon! And the Sweeney: "He knows you, sunshine..." "Sunshine" is not a loving nickname for Ray Doyle! It's a generic... Which is not to say that I don't like the idea of "little Ray of sunshine", but... Sorry, wot? Digressing, me? *g*

Like the flashback to the rooftops too - to finding the book full of gen... And Doyle taking off his slicker, all casual on the sofa... teasing the Sweeney with the Lit course... until he finally gets tired of all the... banter! And heee how amused is he by DC Jack's dog impressions, and DS Collin's tough-guy act...

Back to the gorgeous Bodie... oh, and look what he's wearing! The t-shirt and then what looked like a v-neck under the chain-y leather jacket - this one's a much better choice!

Oh, and more chocolate brown than black, actually... Oh, and Bodie'd want the freaks nailed...

Oh and again - love the light on Bodie... *g*

And how aware was Pros? No Chinese MPs, no union officials...

Oh, the gorgeous Ray playing at being all domestic - it's the little touches, like Esther shouting out "Missed the last bit", and taking her boots off - and being so unimpressed by him! Traditional Eastern inscrutability! *g*

Oh, and Doyle's thinking of someone else though - "Bodie thinks he might be onto something"... Adore the teasing between Doyle and Esther, she's a great character. And I think they're good friends...

Heeee - "Haven't shaved, 3.7?" - "Better stand downwind from me too!" *vbg* And Bodie, "procurer" for Cowley! Sock soup! Bodie's expenses! "The only place open when I get through, isn't it - they think I'm an American actor" - heeeee!

Erk - Bodie's adam's apple! (What?)

Lads at the market together - Bodie back to normal - and Doyle's not wearing his slicker any more either... I suppose it's just not raining, but... I liked him in that slicker! (What?!) Except that Bodie's all upset still...

Good old milkmen, writing down all the odd things they see...

Aw... Bodie seems to know Joey's sister... she trusts him - knows him... And ohhh - "Even his treads were odd uns..."

Doyle in good jeans... recognises Cowley straight off

Ah, the milkman was an ex-traffic cop...

The gorgeous Doyle-making-fruit-salad scene!

And Esther's hat! *g* (Doyle's sucking two fingers at once here, you say? Really? I hadn't noticed... *g*)

2.4's a busy boy, always on the end of the RT. And he can spell.. *g*

Oh, Doyle can't sleep... They've separate bedrooms, clearly... Doyle's drinking wine in the middle of the night... He's worrying over the case... Bounds over sleepy Esther, and sort of nuzzles her gently, but... there's no sex between them...

Is that 2.4 heading into Heathrow? Love that he "clears it" with Heathrow!

Back to the flat... *g* Eeep - cosy domestics interupted!

Keeping a gun in your handbag isn't much impediment...

... and Doyle chucks another one over a balcony... He's never got the slightest qualms, does he - none of yer gently-gently with our Doyle... Oh yeah, he's the sensitive one...

Bodie stopping to peer at the Swedish Showgirls... A smile for Joey's sister as she nearly clouts him... and all the gangsters in the world don't live around New Street Station... Another one from Birmingham?!

Doyle on stakeout with Esther, but he's all attention as soon as he hears Bodie's voice over the radio...

I wonder how they did the tube shots - had the camera team hang around until the tube they'd put the actor on came through, presumably! Can't imagine London Transport being that accommodating... *g*

Bodie needing picking up again! *g* He's still managed to pick the suspect up again though, and follow him to a hotel...

And yes! The lads together again! 2.4 is called - "Jiffo"? And the lads are telling jokes again... Bodie has mates on the Express?!

Heeee - Doyle recognises the cavalry... *g* He's a vengeful little bugger, our Doyle! *vbg* And the lad can walk...

Aww - Bodie all gentle with Dole - "Time to move, mate..." - Doyle gives a sleepy sniff...

Heee - "That drink really improved you!" *vbg*

Lads together again - Bodie nudges Doyle to get his attention before shooting up the tables... Hee - "Give it up, hotshot"!

And the gorgeous look on Bodie's face as he makes the bet - just look at the way he's looking at Doyle... *vbg*

Oh, another agent gets it, despite Doyle's roar...

Eep - Doyle is definitely not big on gently-gently - not at all worried about putting the boot in to get the suspect to lie flat...

Oh, and Kroll has diplomatic immunity... Bodie's all gentle again - "Where d'you wanna go? Ray?"...

And Esther's all sad about leaving... Doyle's aware of it, but... not any more than touched by it, I don't think... And he's realistic about her leaving too, doesn't make any promises... The look on his face, it's... It's just back-to-real-life-now...

This is an odd ep, in a way. It's very much a Bodie ep in alot of ways, except that I always think of it as a Doyle ep, and... I shouldn't like it very much, because the lads are very separate through most of it, and yet... somehow they're not. Somehow, in the little snatches that we see them together, they're truly together, despite even Doyle's living with Esther. It's like... there's nothing really there with Doyle/Esther, and Bodie isn't even questioning that there might be - there's an ease between the lads here, which I don't see in other eps when they're apart like this, and for me that makes all the difference...

*g*

D'you think that when you catch yourself staring idly at the corner of your room, and realise that you're figuring out what would make the best cropped shot, you've maybe done too many screencaps..?
