Lazy Easter long weekend and all

So much for going excavating this weekend - I couldn't make contact in the end, and then by Friday I had what felt like a niggly cold (desperately hoping it wasn't that tooth being infected or anything horrid like that), and then Friday was upon me and I'd not made plans... so I'm at home being lazy/trying to get the Dairy more livable. It still feels more like a place I'm keeping my stuff for a while than home (whereas my lovely Annexe did feel like my home, I guess cos I chose it), but I keep hoping that'll change if I can sort it out better and start concentrating on other things!

Anyway, I found myself taking some things that couldn't be made to fit here to the local Emmaus, and heading back to Ikea to find stuff that did (which felt so wrong...) and in between I stopped at this Country Park, and had a little wander with my camera.

I walked down beside Glebe Lake... ...passing others on the path... *g*

It all felt very Easter, and very spring, although this church on the hill felt somewhat sinister, somehow! There's spring blossom on the trees around...

And when I got home and opened the wild garlic I'd had from Riverford this week (to make pesto - yum, I don't know why I ever buy the stuff when homemade is so much nicer!) I found garlic flowers, which I'd just been complaining I hardly ever see! So delicate and pretty... oh, and such amazing pesto... *vbg*

The family's away, and so I took an evening wander around, and down the long field at the bottom of their garden. The evening Dairy looked quite cosy with its lights on.

The field, on the other hand, felt somewhat less comforting - there were odd movements and rustlings and crackings of undergrowth from this corner by the trees, which is where the remains of the medieval church and its graveyard are buried... Luckily a neighbour had also told me that there were badger sets there, so I had a reason not to let myself be too spooked! (I wish I could see the badgers though - maybe I should invest in night goggles!) I love the green and purple glow in the sky in the second pic - things were even spookier than I realised! Okay, it's an artefact of me being lazy and using "autocorrect" to take out some of the shadow in the pic, but still... *vbg*

Even though my Dairy is still rather chaotic, it was nice to come inside... *g*I guess there are times when it feels like home after all... *g*

I think your dairy looks very nice and cozy from the outside, and the inside, too, once the chaos subsides a bit! *g*
It always looks the messiest when trying to get everything set up.
Reminds me of all the moving Bodie and Doyle do in many stories! Doyle getting stuck reading the books while unpacking ect.

And do I remember correctly that you weren't all that sure about your annexe at the beginning, too, or was that just the price?

And oh, ghosts i the neighborhood!!! ;)
I could the imagination firing up, when walking alone in semi-darkness!
Badgers sound like a much better option!

And now we are taking the MG for a little afternoon spin, to have coffee and cake somewhere nice.
Weather is not the nicest, but we'll see if we can fit in a walk.

It's the chaos that I'd like to deal with - I hate not knowing where things are when I want them! And hee for B/D moving house in all the stories - I've just read the one where Doyle gets distracted reading books, too, Jigsaw Puzzle, I think! *g*

Ooh, I don't remember not being sure about the Annexe - although I do remember being nervous about the rent, because it was much more than I'd been paying before... I think also that the Annexe was ready for a tenant too. The landlords had done a brilliant job of getting everything clean and fresh for the new person. By comparison I had to sweep up someone else's lentils here, and there was mildew everywhere (still is - I can't find the source of it all...) and dust and cobwebs (again, I'm still finding them in some places!). Where everything worked in the Annexe, my landlords/bosses here don't really know much about the Dairy... So it's been a very different place to move into, I guess - and from that perspective I suppose it felt a bit like going backwards rather than forwards... maybe that's what's at the heart of it. It still doesn't smell like mine either, if that makes sense...

I hope you managed to get your walk - and coffee and cake, too! And rather selfishly, I hope you took a picture or two... *vbg*

And yes, what I remembered about the Annexe was probably the rent and something about the WiFi not working well? How is that in the dairy? Do you get a strong connection?
Mildew is not good!
Do you have a dehumidifier? We had to get one for our bedrooms, as it gets damp in there, for some reason. Yet another thing taking up space!
Have your bosses lived at their house long? I hope they will get everything fixed, so you have a comfortable and healthy living space!
Did you ever meet your neighbor, the pilot, yet?
