A Monday in Germany - three weeks ago...

Monday (okay, I'm a day late already...), three weeks ago (how?!) now - and here I was! After the busy and lovely long weekend, we took it easy around the nearby Town and local Hometown. First a little jaunt into Town.

Remember this place? The highwalker? *g*


Complete with lovelocks.


This year we visited the rathaus, with its gorgeous astronomical clock (rebuilt in the early 1950s, not original).



The inside was rather stark (aescetic severity it's called on wiki!) but I did like the staircase... *g*

Bonus dragon. *g*


Chemists are so cool in Germany - not only are they almost apothecaries (*g*), but they all seem to have beautiful signs...


The river walk, with its gorgeous trees, was still there too... *g*


Then a wee walk around hometown...


I still like this statue too - even though I remembered and expected her, she still made me peer to be sure she was sculpted for just a moment!

And flowers everywhere... *g*



Finally, I tagged along on the FoodShare run. Look what would have been thrown away, if not for this group!

And yes, it is madness how much food would be thrown away if there weren't the people from Foodshare! It's good to have them!

still a bit on the awol side, but just - wow, outstanding staircase and dragon pics especially (also the reconstructed clock looks wonderful). It's lovely to see them (and how is it possible for days to just disappear like that?!?!?!?) :-s

I've never been to Germany but like so many other places, it's on my list. Glad you had a good time and thanks for sharing the beautiful pictures.
