Days End

Rats - it's just not happening, that whole combination of happy and posting. I know I said I was going to do this for 100 days and maybe even keep going after that, but actually I'm finding it a bit constricting this time around - sometimes I want to post about other things that couldn't strictly be called happy, but because I committed to this I felt like it should take priority, and... Well, it can't be good if I'm boring myself... *g*

I'll still try to post every day, but hopefully I'll feel less guilty if I miss a day, go back to enjoying all my icons rather than just the yellow one (*g*), and be more likely to post about different things again. Although I must admit that moving home/job/area might be a strong theme for a few weeks...

For now, here's glimpses of a few happy moments from the last few days - because weather and shining cold, and drifting mist always make me happy!

This morning I was briefly quite excited when I saw this forecast for us on Accuweather...
DSC_7997 2017-11-25 01SnowForecast DSC_7997 2017-11-25 02SnowNotLikely
...although the view out the window didn't make it seem likely, and sure enough, we're still all blue skies (well, with clouds, but definitely not snow clouds)! Hey-ho... Although the gardener (sounds grand, doesn't it, but it's more about how this lot have bitten off much more than they can chew, property-wise...) reckons we're in for a more wintry winter this year - with snow! There might be snow! *looks hopeful*

In the meantime, this weekend is about a visit to relatively local... well, relatives. *g* And hopefully more sorting, ready to move. I can consolidate more, right? It just looks bad cos I bought bits of furniture to fit into this space, but if there's different space to fit into there, then I won't actually still need it/have to find space for it. Right...? Eeep! But yeah, more consolidating. And hopefully also more December preparation of a Pros-y and present-y kind, too!

Reading: The Apprentice Witch by James Nichol
Just read: A Winter's Tale by Trisha Ashley (sometimes there is a great need for happy fluff...)
Avoided reading for bookgroup (after the first couple of dozen pages): Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace (because get over yourself, and also - get a better editor)

Watching: Buffy, because see above need for happy fluff!

Looking forward to: not having to battle with useless storage heaters; more time to live life/write/post/comment/reply to emails etc.

Yeah, moving, and preparing for it, is going to be taking up a lot of your time, maybe to the point that short posts are all you'll have time for. "Happy" may have to go by the wayside. It's really a shame that all this had to happen around the holidays!

I'm hoping I can still make time to post, but I'd like to post about things that I didn't feel fit into the idea of a "happy" post. Which is not to mean more whinging and grumbling (*g*), but maybe the odd book post, or Pros post, or just ooh, look post... *g*

It is a bit of a shame that it's all happening around Christmas - I won't be able to put up decorations until the week before Christmas at the earliest, and I do like decorations. *g* But it might also mean I have extra time to settle into the Bakehouse - I suspect I'll have the week between Christmas and New Year off, and even though it will probably be unpaid, it will be nice to have that extra time to potter around and wiggle into my space and place. I guess we'll see how it goes. I'm still grumbling to myself that I haven't even been here a year, but on the other hand I do like Somerset, and I have some friends there, so... *g*

When I was doing this, I set it as "100 Happy-Making Things", and didn't require myself to post daily. I got up to 99 (last posted in June of 2013, aaargh), and was saving the last one for mastery of a specific yoga pose...which hasn't happened. But I have mastered a different pose, which also makes me happy, so maybe it's time!

Any, my point: any 100 things that make you happy, at any time!

And maybe with the new year, I'll start a new 100 Happy Making Things list? Lots more things have made me happy since 2013!

I think the daily posting was what appealed to me about it, to be honest. I did it once before, and it went pretty well (okay, a few doubled-up posts *g*), but I just feel like I want to post about other things too, and I don't have time to do both right now... *sighs* But you're right - I could just add in the happies whenever I want to anyway! *g*

Hurrah for mastering yoga poses - that definitely sounds like a happy! And even more hurrah for more happy-posts!

I have been enjoying these, but would far rather have you post what you really want to post. And, anyway, you're going to be terribly busy and in need of less stress as you transition to your new place and job. I do hope it all goes well!

Yay for no storage heaters!

Thank you! I'm definitely hoping for less stress, I have to say... *g* I really like posting every day, and I like posting photos and happy things too - but somehow I've felt just as much as though I can't post some things. I miss being a student and having lots more time!

Oh, and thank gods for no more storage heaters! They seem to use up a ridiculous amount of electricity for very little heat at all - and what there is just isn't controllable. Horrible things!

I have nothing particularly sensible to say, but for a very minor Happy - I've recently started slowly watching my way through all the earlier episodes of due South that I'd never seen before, and which are available on youtube. Ever seen any? Definitely would recommend for when you're through with watching Buffy for the moment :-) (my own preference is for the later eps (when RayK replaced RayV), which are technically seasons 3 and 4, but having already seen those I'm enjoying seeing the early ones for the first time).
One needs happy fluff sometimes!

Oh, I do like Due South! That said, I've only ever seen the first series (although maybe a little bit of the second), and I've been meaning to catch up for ages. My only bad is that I suspect I'm going to be streaming-challenged, at least for a while, when I move to Somerset, because I'll probably be on mobile internet :( Then again, there are still dvds... *g*

Minor happies are always worthwhile!

I kinda know what you mean, if you feel like you need to be happy to make the posts each day, then it's turned into one more thing that you have to do, as opposed to something that makes you happy. Ah life, so nice and confusing. I am very much enjoying your pictures though, they're lovely and I like getting to see other parts of the world.
