Pros Drabble - Not Her by Slantedlight

I was very sad that there was no Pros fic at all listed in the pros_newsletter this week. I've got work to finish, but I picked a random image from my files (thank you for this one, londonronnie!) and thought maybe just one hundred words will count...



Not Her

She'd asked nicely. Ray had been so gentle with her, so kind. He'd picked her up when Kenny knocked her down, and held her close and she'd felt safe. The other one, Bodie, he'd been nice too in his way, and he’d smiled, and called her pretty, but it was Ray who'd asked if she had a way home, Ray who'd wiped tears from her cheek when she just couldn't help it.

Now he looked at her, and the other one looked away, and she knew, she knew without anything else, that it wasn’t her Ray would take home tonight.

Anyone else care to try for a hundred word drabble? Picture-inspired, or anything else? I'd love to see some in my flist... *g*
