Except that I changed it a bit cos I'm one of the many people in the world/on lj who don't live in the USA... *g* Also wow - is being divorced on many people's bucket lists?! Or watching someone give birth/die? I think this is maybe an experience meme rather than a bucket list meme!!

Really funny things on this list ....
So much cool things you've done, seen so many places, wow!

It was a very very American list! *g* I added some things that were a bit more realistic for people who might live in my part of the world - although I've done some of the US things too. I think it probably looks more impressive because it really only counted the US and I added some Europe - if it had included places on the other five continents then it wouldn't look like so much. I've barely been to Asia (Turkey, Dubai), and not been to Africa at all, or South America. Or the Antarctic. *g*

See - I need to go travelling again, and be braver! Stoopid covid making that harder...

Yup, I thought that as well. But having said that, what is it about Las Vegas? Anyone I've heard talking about it seems to love it, I wonder, did you like it?

Lol - I sort of wonder that about Las Vegas too! But I suppose it's pretty impressive as a thing - it's a massive neon-lit city in the middle of a desert, basically, all focused on just being spectacular rather than anything else at all in the world. I mean, they must have libraries and supermarkets and parks and so on, because thousands of people live there, but it's not the people living there who are the focus of the place. It's entirely focused on visitors coming and spending money, and I guess really a sense of irresponsibility and feeling pampered and luxurious and... escape, maybe? Kind of like a cruise ship in the middle of the desert that doesn't go anywhere!

ETA - oh, did I like it?! I was only there very briefly, for an evening as we drove through on our way delivering a car somewhere - me and another girl who were doing a "driveaway" from Florida to Seattle in 14 days. We were quite tired, and we couldn't really work out how to gamble, and we didn't have much money to do it with, so we definitely weren't the target consumers! It was definitely a spectacle though, with all the lights and so on. I remember it being quite hard to find somewhere for breakfast the next morning (we weren't staying in the very centre, we were much further down "The Strip" (though in walking distance).

Ah, thanks for that.

Kind of like a cruise ship in the middle of the desert that doesn't go anywhere!

Great image.

My images of the place seem to centre around Frank Sinatra and the rat pack. And Sinatra standing up for Sammy Davis Jr. when he was allowed to perform there but not allowed to stay in a hotel with the rest of the gang. Or maybe that was somewhere else?

I knew you would have been to a lot of these places! I like how you switched it up a bit, so that it would focus a bit more on your neck of the woods. *g* And, yes, more of an experience list than a bucket list!

I've just realised that I nicked it from you without replying to your original post - how rude!

And hee - I guess I have been to alot of the places on the original list! I do wonder who made it up originally, and how they chose those places. I mean, obviously someone from your part of the world (*g*) but why Florida and not Alaska, for instance? Maybe more Americans dream of going to Florida, perhaps... I would have included "seen a New England fall" too, and maybe "swum in the Pacific Ocean"! *g* (Actually I haven't done either of those things come to think of it... hopefully "yet", if the world can sort itself out!

I have to agree that some of these are odd for a bucket list. LOL

They are, aren't they! Fun to think about though. One I noticed missing that's usually in this sort of meme was "Made a snow angel" - I always notice that one, because I'd never even heard of snow angels before, never mind made one!

You've done one hell of a lot (not that I'm surprised, of course! *g*). Nice one for making the list a bit less USAnian, too :-)

Lol - I bet you've done more things on that list than you might realise! *g* Memes are fun, but they always seem to be so American-based, as if nowhere else exists or needs to be taken into account. Someone outside America might want to join in the meme? No...!

You have never had any kind of pet?

Nope, not me personally. We had a couple of cats when I was a kid, and a lamb that we bottle-fed for a while, but those were sort-of family pets, so I wasn't counting them. I like animals out in the wild, doing their thing, rather than dressed up for human pleasure... (*ducks, because the rest of the world mostly doesn't feel that way*)
