Back in this place again, in the darkened November nights... I thought I'd try the writing group again. There's a different "teacher"/leader and a different approach which is interesting. The only trouble is that meetings keep being cancelled for various reasons, so we've not met for three weeks and now there's another three week gap... not quite the weekly group I thought I was signing up for to keep me motivated! Ah well... hey-ho! My village friend who's also in the group and I are going to try meeting up in the missing weeks - cross fingers.

I know what you mean about motivation. My yarn crafts group has been placed on hiatus at least until the end of the year. Result: no progress on crochet projects.

(The meetings are cancelled because one of the members lied to the host about whether she was vaccinated. Ugh.)

How frustrating that just one member can close a whole group - I understand not being vaccinated because of medical conditions where it's known you have to take care (although I can't imagine they're actually very common), but... why wouldn't you try to look after your friends by getting vaccinated?! It's not as if we don't get vaccinated through life for other diseases that were once endemic... *sighs* /rant

Don't even get me started on my motivation for all the wool and fabric based projects I've not touched for ages... *sigh*

Three weeks gives you time to write more for the assignments. *gggg*

I like your planned private meetings, good idea!
Happy writing how often you'll do it.

You'd think so, wouldn't you - but it doesn't work that way for me right now! The whole point of (paying to) go to the group in the first place was because it would at least make me write once a week... If I could write every day for three weeks or more then I wouldn't need to go - I'd just write!

That looks like a fascinating place.

How annoying about the group. I am using [livejournal.com profile] picowrimo to try and push myself this month, but it is not the same as a writing group.

I'm doing NaNoWriMo this year. They have a genre category of "fanfic" now, so I don't feel like I'm cheating. The live group ("writers' roundtable") I used to go to is active again, but it is (a) too expensive and (b) too remote for me. So I hope that the NaNo meetings work for me. I have that half a crossover that is currently a WIP on AO3 and a story I'm currently stuck in for the Starsky/Hutch Advent Calendar that I want to finish this month. *sigh*
