snailbones! Bit tricky this, cos my bookshelves are all in fragmented bits around the room at the moment (and really are storage boxes...) But let's see what I can do - I'll start from the highest ones, and count to 27 that way! *g*

And the winner is... Stardust by Neil Gaiman, that I read for my Once Upon A Time Challenge, way back in April. It seems so long ago, now! It was the sixteenth book I'd read in 2014 (I'm on my seventieth now), and the first for the challenge, in fact. I liked it, though it read as self-conscious... The cover, simple as it is, is gorgeous too... *g*
I've had a bit of a Neil Gaiman year this year, which started when I borrowed The Graveyard Book from my sister when I was at her place in Australia, and loved it to death. It's still my favourite, though I liked Ocean at the End of the Lane alot too, and of course Fortunately, the Milk!
What about you - what's currently the 27th book on your shelf? *g*
