byslantedlightI did actually get up at a decent time today, and emailed in to say I wouldn't make it to work, and had some breakfast (mostly so I could also have some ibuprofen) and had a rummage around for anything that could be used to make ice - nothing! Whatever happened to good old fashioned ice cube trays? There are none! Landlady has big plastic blocks for coolers, but no ice trays. Or even bags (which I had for a while). And of course I don't, cos I'm lodging in someone's house and there's limited room for kitchenware in my wee cupboards. And in fact she doesn't even have anything cheap like frozen peas that I could nick and replace, it's all boxes of chicken bits and big fat potatoe wedges *headdesk*... And then apparently that brief foray into action was all too much, and I went back to bed for a bit - only this time to cuddle up and sulk under my proper duvet, even if it is really too warm for it... *g*
Didn't think I'd sleep more than an hour, though I was ve-ery sleepy, but here it is, after noon, and I've just got back up again... sorry, I meant to post an I'm-alive post before now... I did have the brilliant idea that if I put just a little bit of water in a small sandwich bag (ziplock) and laid it flat to freeze then I could probably bash it into pieces that I could then put on various bits as required... although it's probably too late for that... I have a puffy face (eye, mostly, but only around my nose - lovely) and largely purple toe, and largely black side of foot, and apparently I also did something to my arm cos it feels like I've been using it to lift weights, and I haven't... but then the thigh muscles on that same side are all strained too, so maybe I tried to fling them all out to save myself! No bruises there though, not outside... all very interesting... and ouch... *g*
But it all has two days to buck itself up so that I can get in Little Car again! Boss kindly emailed back to say I shouldn't worry about coming in on Thursday unless I'm really up to it, so... we'll see! My bosses are both off next week too, so at least that should be relatively relaxing...
Hmmn, wonder if I can do anything useful at all today? Must try and sit up for a bit too, I'm sure that'll be better for puffy-face... wonder how long it takes water to freeze... and if there's anything easy to have for lunch... and whether I've missed the Riverford delivery guy and will have to bring my box in myself, fruit by vegetable... *g*
