So unfair - you wouldn't see it in an insurance commercial, I swear... You remember my poorly foot, from falling downstairs? So, I've spent far too much time tonight watching Series C of QI, which it turns out I've not seen for ages and have forgotten (yeay!) but I finally decided to get up and put it all away. So I take the dvd out of the player and put it in its box, turning around as I do so to place it on the shelf. As I do this, I half-stumble on the corner of duvet I've pulled out to keep my feet warm as I'm watching, and reach out for the bookshelf to steady myself. As I'm at the same time placing the dvd on the shelf, this causes it to bump a little harder into the row of dvds than I expect, which knocks one out of place into the next row, which knocks one out of place into the final row, which knocks the jelly-bean-pooping-polar-bear around, which catches the lush bathbomb that smells nice, which begins to roll forward, I can't quite catch it but it falls onto the edge of my backpack so it's okay, except that it then rolls down and falls onto my poorly foot.
Bloody ouch!
Meanwhile, I swear it's like the jungle outside tonight - creatures yipping and barking and whooping and chattering... I'm waiting for it to actually get properly dark though, cos it's apparently the best night to see the Perseid meteor shower tonight - oooh... I was gonna go to bed early, but I'll go brave the beasts and see if I can see stars shooting across the skies instead... *g*
ETA - I saw a Perseid, I saw a Perseid! *g* Actually I think I saw a rush of little short ones, but I wondered if I was making it up, but then I saw a big bright white one flash across the sky - yeay! It got a bit cloudy, but I shall try again in half an hour or so... Yeay!
ETA2 - Saw half a dozen Perseids later on, including a couple that were spectacular - flashing all across the sky trailing long, glittering tails - actually sparkling tails! *sighs happily*
