Fictional Character Letter Meme

You're probably all bored with these by now, but
przed gave me the letter "D" (because she's a very nice person indeed *g*), and it's kind of fun to do, so...
Here are the rules:
1. Comment on this post
2. I will give you a letter
3. Think of 5 fictional characters and post their names and your comments on these characters in your LJ.
Doyle
DoyleDoyleDoyleDoyleDoyle! I got D-for-Doyle! Do I really need to say more? Okay, I will anyway... *g*
How wonderful did I think Doyle was, when I first watched Pros? Ever so! And I still find him easier to empathise with than Bodie, although Bodie's charms have most definitely grown on me... *g* There's a slight awkwardness to Doyle in some ways though, he's just a little on the geeky side - that dancing, the talking adenoids, the jokes! How can you not be fascinated in the contrast between that and his gorgeous and competent grace as a CI5 agent, and as Bodie's partner?
(I think Doyle deserves one of
shooting2kill's gorgeous screencaps...*g*)

The Doctor
Another childhood one here - since the days of Jon Pertwee! I might have caught glimpses of Patrick Troughton, but I might just be remembering The Three Doctors *g* Tom Baker was and still is my favourite Doctor - less stern than Pertwee, just the right amount of mania! And jellybabies. *g*

Doctor Joel Fleishman
Because Joel will always be a doctor, above everything else! And as annoying as he is (and not particularly likeable in alot of ways) he brought me the rest of the Northern Exposure, including the glories of Chris-in-the-morning: Be open to your dreams people, embrace the distant shore! Our mortal journey is over all too soon...
Oh, you can have a YouTube clip for this one! I was going to post the Cow Fling one, cos the background looks frighteningly like my corner of Alaska (well, and lots of others too!) but then I found this one... shame about the strategically placed snowbank... *g*
Oh, maybe you should just have the Cow Fling too... *g*
Don de Marco
Wait, that means I get Don de Marco too! Wheeeee! *g* I like Don de Marco (Ladder of Swords) - he's such an ordinary person, doing extraordinary things, and again doing some of them so wonderfully, and others just so, so badly... I adore the role MS has taken here - there's a moment when de Marco just absolutely shows weakness and panic and... sheer gibberiness, and he does it so well that I adore him for it. I know it's interesting to see heroes and the people who do, but it's rather fascinating to see the people that don't as well - where do they fall down? What's that point, that little touchpoint where they can tip either way? I can totally see de Marco's touchpoint in Ladder of Swords and on top of the glories of north east England, the magic of the circus, and the gorgeous gypsy violin... well, it just makes it for me. *vbg*
(And for this screencap, we turn to the lovely
sunray45!)

Hmmn, it occurs to me that there isn't a single book-ish fictional character above, although I've read all of them in books - because I tend to when I like the tv show! Maybe I should try and be literary just once...... erm... Let's see, what about D'Artagnan? Or Dick, from the Famous Five? Or Dr Seuss's menagerie?! Mrs Do-As-You-Would-Be-Done-By, who I heard about alot when my little sister was being a pain..? *g* Erm... Drew, Nancy? No! Arthur Dent! Oh, or Dracula, of whom I was terrified for years after reading a graphic version at night on a dare when I was about 6. It apparently didn't occur to me to cheat and just say that I had... spent the next 30 years or so making sure my hair was nice and safely tucked around my neck as I went to sleep (one of pics I remember best showed Mina asleep with her long dark hair fanned out on the pillow, her neck all unprotected and vulnerable... I'm not really sure if my idea was that Dracula wouldn't like getting hair between his teeth, and so avoid it, or what... I was only six, okay?!)
Okay, and I can't be cheating with that last one because I did tell you about the Dracula thing. Hmmn - have Gerard Butler's audition for Dracula 2000! (I think it may actually be better than what ended up in the actual film... *g*
And with that - I'm up far too late for a girl who's got stuff to do tomorrow, and not alot of time to do it! Although, really, how long can laundry and tidy and pack take? I mean, really? *g*
