Look at him, smile stretched across his face, eyes grinning, gaze touching your skin with such warmth you can feel it. It's what keeps you going when the day is too long and the night is even longer, it's what you hold onto when you're lying bruised and bleeding on the pavement somewhere.

It's as far as it will ever go, because you work for CI5, because Cowley needs you, and your country needs you even more, and one day long ago you vowed your life away.

You press your shoulder into his anyway, wanting more. You think about divorce.


Once upon a time, in a month far far away, I offered Pros drabbles to people who requested them and I've been just slightly delayed, but I didn't forget... *g*

Oh ... eeek. This is a bit sad :( I think maybe Doyle's on to something though ... so go on then, is he married to an actual wife here, or has he vowed away his life to the job? Nice drabble! You really made me examine the icon carefully and it fits so well.

They do belong together... *g* I nearly did a drabble for your Bodie-in-the-snow icon, because it came up as your default in the drabble post, but I'd luckily saved the other one, so did that instead... Sorry I took so long, and I hope it wasn't too sad-ish! It's meant to be full of promise really... *vbg*

I had to read this twice to truly get it - my fault for trying to read too quickly *g*

I really, really like this and I can't put my finger on exactly why I do. I think maybe because Doyle has realised it's time to move on with Bodie even though he knows it means making a fresh start.

Oh I am glad you like it - thank you! And it was definitely a with-Bodie drabble rather than anything else as I was writing it, so... yes! *g*
