Oh the bliss and peace of ProsWatch... I think that I adore this ep an awful lot... let's see, shall we? *g*

I do like the premise of thievish "customers" who want to see the goods being stolen but basically don't want to take the risk of doing it themselves... Sort of like the armchair explorers of the 19th century, only... more villainous! *g*

Oh, the lads at an exhibiton, sipping champagne and strolling disapprovingly amidst the canvas and sculptures!

Doyle "Should have been artistic" and "could have copped for some of the loose living too"... I adore that in fic he so copped for the loose living... hands up everyone who loves The Flat by DVS! (And if you've not read it you just must...) *vbg*

Ow and ow for the baddie who crunches the bones in the guard's neck... ow and ow and ow...

Doyle puzzling so hard over his puzzle, and so pleased when he works it out! Bodie so bored...

The lads so together in the car, and against Cowley when he comes!

Aeroplane! Another aeroplane - ooh, don't like the look of the muck on its props!

The lads in the place with the gorgeous molten melty stuff... Together again, the way they're supposed to be

Doyle is touchy - he touches little blokey to say thanks and goodbye...

Oh they look tired... Doyle all sarcastic about the Minister's humour... Cowley all serious... Bodie "can't get worked up about some Saxon pot". (Sally Fell! Where's our Sally Fell! Your Doyle needs to work harder on him! *g*) (Re the pics - there was puzzled Bodie and there was pout-y Bodie. After careful consideration I went for... *g*)

Bodie's eyelashes all shadowed against this cheeks... (hee - is that a fracture I see? *g*) Doyle all undone... something going on about a plot, but...

Ooh, planes! *g*

Trafalgar Square! How fab does that look! The lads accosting photographers - heeee! Why? And hee - "Do me a favour..." Gotta love a Lundunah! And touching! There's lads touching hands! That's Doyle grabbing for Bodie's hand, that is! *vbg*

Hee- Doyle done for parking where he shouldn't! And gorgeous, gorgeous London... What does Bodie say? "Burst of gravity everywhere"? Eh?

I love the colour in this ep, I think - there's a gorgeous gold-yellow on the windows behind blokey on the telephone, and then the colours in the hangar, and the gorgeous greyness of London... *vbg*

Heee - Doyle screeches to a halt by the pavement, and Bodie almost knocks out a passer-by! Or does he unexpectedly recognise him? Or something - look at that grin! And he sort of pauses by the car door, looking after him, as if expecting the bloke to say "Afternoon" back! *vbg*

Bodie's tired of the female anatomy... I've a suggestion or two... maybe Doyle has too... *g*

The lads are mean and moody and grumpy...

...are the lads the buttons?! Like it! I think this ep is full of such silliness that it just makes it better... and the baddies playing tennis - one of them in full tennis regalia, the other in his civvies!

Heee - Cowley - "an incident resulting only in strongly worded letters"!

And Doyle - "Don't give us some ancient moody about some Samaritan you met in a pub!"

The lads together as they come out of Snapper's, just talking very naturally...

...and as they go into... They're laughing! Whee jokes offscreen! *g*

Hee - the lads stopped from wandering into... CI5? It's all security and red tape these days...

Doyle's lost his memory for numbers - who's been distracting him? And why's Bodie looking smug? *g*

Awww - the lads all pleased with themselves over the Felby number, only to be told that Cowley's already figured out... how desultory do they look going in to see him when they thought he was going to be so pleased with them!

Oh, and one of my favourite Pros moments - oh, there's something on Bodie's shirt! That's the private joke that MS makes when he's teasing LC! Look! Doyle sits down, looks towards Bodie, and frowns at something he sees on Bodie's shirt! I'd swear he does! And LC is looking at him to see if he spots it and looks away! What is it?!

And then... and then during the scripted bit MS scratches his eye and says "Well, we could wear our clean shirts if we thought he was sensitive" - looking at him to get to acknowledge it, and LC does! Oh, it's about Bodie's shirt!

I know I've wittered about this before, but I didn't catch Doyle frowning at the shirt, couldn't figure out what the joke meant! But now - wheeeee! *g* (Okay, someone's gonna point out summat obvious that means I've got it all wrong, but it was fun at least thinking I've got it figured out!)

Right, sorry - where was I? Ep?

The lads wandering into Cowley's club...

Electricity! The power went! Gaaaaaah! What was that all about, eh? Bugger - I'm right back to the start of the dvd... Lucky I didn't miss anything, I suppose... *g* That were all very mysterious though - everything went black - me little glow-y Christmas tree, the lads - even me lappie before it clicked into battery for the duration of the emergency (about half a second... *g*)

Erm... the lads! Wandering into Cowley's club together again! And barred by Smithson until Cowley rescues them!

Heeeee - "For two" Cowley says about Evesham Asparagus and fresh sea trout - "We'll grab a sausage sandwich at Nelly's caff" says Doyle... *g* Well, he is wearing trainers... *vbg*

Doyle was in the police... and he's going back...

...and Bodie's all amused "at the sign of the blue lantern" - "Oh jack, what a thrill..."

"Shut up, you!" says Doyle!

And heeee Doyle is to be kept off the "real work" by reason of being sloppy and insubordinate and not Dick Daring! *g* And hee too - Bodie will be on sugar beet machinery, and Doyle hopes he feels "well trapped"... Doyle has to give up his gun, which he's clearly not happy about... addicted, our lads, completely addicted...

Hee - "Morning constable" shouts Bodie out the window as our Doyle passes and grins at him, and Doyle takes advantage of his bike... *g*

And Doyle is well obnoxious as DS Doyle amongst the hayseeds! And all whistling and rock music and being obstreporous... lovely and bolshy he is...

"Fatso here couldn't argue with a black pudding..." *g*

Bodie settling into the pub... backing off from the big nasty dog... finding a weapon he can use against it... and then managing to offend Tibsey as well...

Ah, our sloppy Doyle...

Hee - the lads at the pub together - Doyle being chatted up by the barmaid - the two strangers meet, and Bodie will have the usual! Cutting beet isn't what it used to be either... *g*

Ooh, a red helicopter takes off, and a yellow one lands! That's clever! But yeay lots of flying things in this ep!

Oooh, the nasty fire-burning chimneys of... Thingie Drilling who make Straight and Four.

Doyle on his motorbike! With a plane behind him!

Unshaven Doyle on a motorbike! Being obnoxious... *g*

The class system rules okay...

The lads at the pub, hating the country! "Bodie, the name of place we're in is Nowhere"... *g* Except that Bodie's had his share of "cream teas" there, and for some reason that makes Doyle laugh... *g*

Doyle's arms look good in that t-shirt...

Bodie telling Doyle to get out of his shift the next afernoon... Don't you love their proximity here? Our lads give good proximity, I think... *g*

Plane! Gorgeous sky behind it too... *g*

Oh, Bodie throwing stones desultorily into the village pond... the country life "has its moments"

Hee - Bodie takes the watch/bug from Cowley, asking if that's Straight and Four! *g*

Oh, gorgeous sleepy Doyle... Grumpy Bodie trying to rouse his Doyle!

Lovely Doyle waking up, all sort of soft... *g*

Doyle cheeking Ralston - heeee!

Acme Drilling! What are they doing outside of Roadrunner territory?

The lads on picnic! How much do we adore the lads on picnic?

And sneaky lads... And aeroplane! And more sneaky lads...

And gorgeous sneaky lads sitting together under the window, being worried...

Oh, Bodie's got a plan...

...and Doyle has to spike the bloody aircraft, and Bodie's through the window, and... Oh, it's all happening!

Doyle spikes the plane by emptying the fuel tanks, and then his plan is apparently to set fire to everyone...

Oh no, Bodie's in trouble! Handcuffed! He holds his wrists out for them though - what faith has he got in his Doyle?

Doyle does his flaming twirly thing - heeee! And don't just stand there, Bodie!

The pain on Doyle's face as Armitage tries to restrain him... There's a big fight and everyone jumps on everyone, and Doyle goes in to rescue Bodie whose handcuffs are disadvantaging him slightly and there's more jumping on everyone, and...

Hee - the pain on Bodie's face as he's led away...

And Doyle's fabulous laugh...

And oh - back to the comedy ending, complete with cake... *g*

See, that was a good ep! A twisty turn-y plot that we barely care about because the lads are together, together, together! *sighs happily* That's my Pros! *vbg*

Now, everyone should go and read HG's brilliant Black Sheep! *g*

Oh, and I just threw open my window for some lovely mild, fresh air, and Orion is just shining in the sky tonight! Happy solstice, everyone! *vbg*

Oh, good bits all around! Bad plot, too much bad guy footage, but the lads are fabulous. And my fav shot of Doyle is that laughing one at the end. He's so adorable! They both look wonderful. *happy sigh*

Thanks!

Lol - I quite like the plot in alot of ways, and although I'd usually prefer more lads-together time, our are lads so together that I can appreciate the other characters a little more, I think!

They do both look glorious, don't they? *sighs happily with you*

You got some great moments in here. I like this episode - I have a hankering for bolshy copper Doyle, Bodie in that black leather jacket, and just them being as together as they are here. Lovely!

Oh, bolshy copper Doyle is a thing of such beauty... And they are back together properly in this one aren't they, after ages of being separated, it seems... I'm all worried now that this'll be the last one where they do seem together, as I generally don't think I like Season 4 as much after this one... *is skeered*

Hi. I am new to this, but have been watching/reading and thoroughly enjoying the posts on Safehouse and the various Pros related livejournals for quite some time and oh yes I have been an avid Pros fan for years.

Anyway....re your comment about Doyle looking at Bodie's shirt, I did wonder whether the boys had actually switched shirts as Doyle was wearing a black shirt and Bodie a white one in the earlier scenes and then later Bodie had a black shirt and Doyle a white one. It may well explain Doyle's frown and the joke about the clean shirt during that scene.

Oh yes! Yes it must be! Good, better best! *g* Sorry to be all over-excited, but that's brilliant - well spotted! *dies a little at the lads wearing each others clothes...*

And hello, and welcome to Pros and lj, and I do hope you're enjoying it all!

Actually, thinking about it, you should totally post about the shirt-thing to [livejournal.com profile] the_safehouse - I bet more people would love to see it than will read my waffling-on commentary! You're welcome to borrow my screencaps, if you like? Or I could do it on your behalf, if you'd like to be more gently eased in... *g*

Looking back on your screen caps, I see that you have captured the shirt swap as well! I hadn't noticed that before now. Mind you it is not the first time Bodie and Doyle have swapped clothes. One only needs to think back to Mixed Doubles when Macklin slices Doyle's blue shirt that Bodie is wearing.

Thanks for the great welcome BySlantedLight and the offer to use some of you icons. I may take you up on that later :-)

Belated reply - sorry, I do this sometimes! Belated Merry Christmas too!

Yes, that's true, the shirt from Mixed Doubles! And they're so casual about it... *g*

and the offer to use some of you icons
Ooh, just to clarify - I meant the screencaps up above in this post, rather than icons! Most of my icons (userpics) were made by other people, so I'm not free to give those away I'm afraid! You'll find most of them over at [livejournal.com profile] the_safehouse, and mostly their creators just ask for you to comment to acknowledge their work, and then for you to credit them as the creator (usually in the keyword space when you load the icon). And if it was just a slip of the keyboard to say icons rather than screencaps, then sorry, and I'll shut up now! *g*

'Burst of gravity everywhere' is a Scouse alert, translates (for me) as 'There's depravity everywhere'.
Love Bodie sounding so sanctimonious.

Well done, this is a superb review and pics. And the rec's. And Sally Fell! Bodie being 'in sugar beet machinery' with his Volvo estate puts me in mind of the same (extraordinarily attractive) Bodie from 'The Secrets Beneath', at home in the countryside.

And welcome, procrastin8, with that ingenious and plausible idea.

'There's depravity everywhere'.
Yes! That's it, of course! I knew I'd even heard it before and it was one of his memorable little thingies, but... *g* Although I kind of like the idea of "bursts of gravity everywhere" - makes me think of DVS's glorious "Suitable Gravity"... *g*

All the driving around London made me nostalgic for when I lived there! And I'd kill for a cream tea just about now.

The scene in the club where Cowley sends Doyle undercover into the police and then Bodie into sugar beets is worth the whole episode. Well, that and poor Doyle scrambling around frantically trying to pour out all the gasoline--that place must have reeked afterward. Amazing that his molotov kite tail didn't simply ignite the fumes in the air!

His laugh was delicious at the end. Poor Bodie--at least he got some choccy cake for his troubles.

Oh my - another ep I haven't seen yet, but so much pretty... you've got some lovely screen caps there. I can't make up my mind whether I love the dirty Doyle laugh at the end, or the soft waking up Doyle most... but then there's the Doyle arms too. They do look lush together - and they seem to be having fun for once too. Great stuff, ta muchly.

I adore this ep too, mainly because they are gorgeous, they are mostly together and we get some funny moments. The end is a different matter though - and confusing. It should have ended with Doyle´s dirty laughter - much more appropriate I think.

Thanks for another great review!

Hee - it would have been far better to end on that laugh, I agree! It's as if they went all the way back to those season one let's-have-a-funny-happy-ending moments! At least we could enjoy the lads looking quizzically at each other over the cake! *g*
