The Ojuka Situation! We all like The Ojuka Situation, right?
And there he is, Clarke Peters, who I can never imagine without a top hat and jazz hands after Facelift... *g* He's good though - I do like him.
And there's Cowley... oh, and he's talking to the baddie from... from... the one where Doyle tucks himself in beside Bodie at the stables... NaVCCS! *g*
Yeay our lads - the "muscle"... *g* Bodie looking very Liam Gallagher (or is it the other one?) - in a very cool parka. Doyle wearing a fairly naff V-neck... bless 'im...
Doyle's seen worse than the bloodbath at the school... I guess the massacre in ODNT for a start...
Hee - and Cowley's grumpy with him - apparently he's full of "juvenile metaphors"! *g*
Oh dear, and BC all full of repetitions - he used the tie your camel first line in Sinbad as well... *g* But Doyle looks at Bodie already, and it feels as if they're a bit more together than they have been lately

Hee - the lads amused at Cowley being all coy to Madame Ojuka! Another look between them!

And hee - Bodie making bad jokes too - disarming... *vbg* (Also - is that a picture of a crushed Dalek on the wall behind them, top right? *g*)

Ooh, nice building the Ojukas get to live in... and the lads with them for a while...
(Gratuitous screencap of the lads going upstairs, including long-legged Doyle bringing up the rear...)

Yeay, Doyle reading! Bodie's guarding the outside, and they'll change over soon... *g*

Awww, and the lads on the R/T together, I do like that... And heee for priapismic - Bodie's little silence as he thinks about it, and Doyle being so amused cos he can just imagine it, can't he...

Oh, Doyle falling asleep over his book (did we figure out which one that is?)... 'til Bodie calls him again... *g*

And ohhh - "It's your priapismic monster... *sighs happily*

And how happy does Doyle look that Bodie's coming up?

Doyle leaps down many sets of stairs to shoot one of the baddies, and then shoots another one just as someone else is about to shoot him... Oh, and they look at each other... *g*

Eeep - Doyle is told off by Cowley when he interupts the Cowley/Ojuka conversation... but I love that he interjects again almost immediately after... *g*

Hee - "Trust in god mate," says Bodie wisely, as our lads stride down the corridor, "But with Ojuka in the back seat we'd better take Armalites and grenades..." *vbg* Oh, and see the way they're smiling at each other - they're together!

Yeay, lads together in the car! Bodie telling Doyle to "Keep your big eyes on that..." *g* Hee - Doyle refusing to hand over their gun, and sounding very northern with it - and just that slight grin when he knows that Bodie's going to put his foot down.

Doyle kills both baddies very efficiently, runs and grabs the guns... and they work together beautifully... Aha - Doyle with a gun down his waistband (hee!) - who was I talking about that with?

Hmmn - Murphy's on call - Priority One... and the lads are checking into a rather nice looking country hotel... Hee - lovely little smile from Bodie as they walk in - what's he seen? What was the girl doing that she put way so quickly?!

And even more hee - Bodie's face when Doyle says they're travellers in tropical fish... and oh, the both of them when they say that the really... didn't mind having to share a... bath... *vbg*

You know, I think they're re-using an awful lot of actors in this ep... *g* Lots of time without the lads - lucky they're being lovely together when we do see them...
Doyle all cross-legged bendy on the bed, cleaning his gun... Bodie automatically goes to sit beside him on his bed too... Hee, Bodie all impressed and happy by the scrambler...

Oh... and they're separated again... Waah!
Doyle and Ojuka - all friends, although Doyle dares to speak plainly to Ojuka about his past... "Which of us remains spotless on his road to power?" Ojuka asks, and Doyle looks up, as if he's... as if that makes sense to him, as if he understands it? How many men has Doyle killed already in this ep?
Oh, but Doyle in the bathroom in his white t-shirt... white t-shirt is a good colour on him! *g*

Ah, Bodie palely loitering in the bushes... Doyle in the pink-papered hotel...
Oh, and oh-no, Doyle's trapped - too many men, too many hostages... though he takes his chance and gets a vicious kick in, but...too many men and he's knocked out, and dragged half-awake through the hotel... Luckily he annoyed Parker enough that he's being kept alive for later punishment... which starts in the car...

Bodie's first question when he hears that it's gone wrong is about Doyle... and later "Doyle's in there, you know"... Oh, bless...

And Doyle's winded by that blow, but he manages to figure out a way to escape... fire... oh, and can't you just feel that flame blistering his skin... *cringes*

Bodie lurking behind drainpipes... doing what Cowley's told him so far - waiting... At least, until he decides not to... *g*
Eeeh - Doyle manages to break free just as Parker goes back in to kill him - saves himself, and brings Bodie running and shooting into the fray... Doyle takes a moment to appease his own temper before wading into the other fray...
Oh, and bless - Bodie wasn't talking about Ojuka... and the look between them... just... *sighs*

(And Doyle's tucked his gun into his waistband again!)

And then Bodie's smile as he's free to join Doyle again at last...

...and his voice so soft asking "What?"... *sighs more happily*

It's still not quite the same sort of joyful camaraderie as the earlier seasons - they're somehow older, somewhat weary, perhaps... but they're together again in this one... and that's much better... *g*

Date: Monday, 9 March 2009 09:37 am (UTC)Did you notice after Bodie had crashed the car and Doyle had shot the two gunmen, Doyle comes back to the car where Ojuka congratulates him. There seems to be a bit of a mix up as to whether they will shake hands - they don't.
Thanks for this.

Date: Monday, 9 March 2009 01:53 pm (UTC)So many lovely moments, sigh. I particularly liked Bodie being positively tender with Doyle when he left the hotel to go on surveillance. Usually in any given Pros scene the lads are together, or they're solo, we don't often get to see these parting gestures in between.
But, ahem, isn't there a favourite Pros character missing from your review? One who has more lines in this ep. than in all the others put together? Murphy-ism I call it. Still, decorative as Murph is, I didn't find him as interesting when he's not interacting with the lads. I see this was filmed straight after 'Foxhole', which might explain the high Murphy content.

And yes, good point about the parting moments - the other one I remember is from Servant of Two Masters, where they part at the car to go their separate ways... "Don't talk to any strange men..." Bodie says... *vbg*

white t-shirt is a good colour on him!
Oh totally agree with you there, and I think you're right about the picture of a crushed Dalek - can't think what else it could be *hg*
Lovely piccies too, thank you.
