D'you remember me banging on about The Omega Factor being out on dvd just when I couldn't afford it? Well, that was just before I remembered that I had Paypal funds, and that it just might be available on ebay, and... it was.

And I have just completely spooked myself by watching two eps in a row, even though it's all really obvious red-eyed out 1970s special effects and spookiness... Except that it's a very chilling kind of spookiness, and the one where they had voices on tape that weren't there in the building, which was the one that I remembered vividly from when it was on telly (I was 12 or so at the time - and it's okay, I don't mind if you count... *g*) has totally given me the creeps all over again tonight! So that even though I'm really really really sleepy now, and had planned on getting up really early after a really early night... I'm just gonne hang out here for a little bit, 'kay? *g*

It's good though - does anyone else remember it? James Hazeldene and Leela Louise Jamieson? And it's from 1979, so it's actually fic research! I'm working here! And spooked. In that way when you keep catching glimpses of shadows in the corners of your vision... usually just behind you... *g*

I think I might need to take Cornish Birdwatchers to bed with me tonight... The lads in Cornwall'll keep me safe!

Oh I *loved* the Omega Factor. It was on late at night and I can still remember one episode that scared the bejesus out of me - it's the one where the Hazeldene character is possessed (I think) and looks up into a mirror. This was twenty years ago so my memory may be fuzzy. *g*

It was on late at night, and wasn't it just so good! I don't remember the possession one - I don't expect I'll have any problems being spooked by it though, even the titles which start with him in psychedelic colours, stumbling backwards give me the shivers! *g*

I adored it! And I have the DVD somewhere and have just realised I never watched all of it *g*.

Oh, you must watch the rest - I bet they're just as fab! *g*

It is indeed brilliant, and I must find time to watch my DVD again soon.

Why was TV so much better in the 70/80s? At least they still made drama series...

No doubt because they did still make drama series... like Apparitions! I really wish they'd get over this "reality tv" bug, cos it's not at all real and people know that, but as long as they're fed brain-dead pap they'll go with the easy option and never think for themselves! Hmmn. /rant. *g*

Probably a strange thing for a telly addict like me to admit to, but I've got no recollection of this whatsoever.

No idea why!

Oh you must see it, it's fab! Bet you'd recognise lots of the other actors too, I suspect there are some very classic ones there! *g* There was only ever one series of it, and rumour has it that it pushed the Beeb's limits so much at the time, and the producers kept promising to tone it down and never did, that it wasn't renewed... Good old rumour... *g*

I watched "Cry Wolf" last night for the first time and that scared me - I can't imagine what this show would do!

Actually Cry Wolf has that same sort of spookiness, though toned down a bit more. I'm actually quite the wimp when it comes to scary tv and films (though I'll read it without any qualms - until after the fact *g*) - I don't watch horror films, and very rarely even "psychological thrillers". Strangely enough, I do find myself watching things like The Omega Factor, and Sea of Souls - maybe it's that I can only take about an hour at a time! *g*
