Hmmn - housekeeping?
Sunday, 1 November 2009 07:16 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
This is a sort of think-y post, in a hmmn-what-shall-I-do kind of way...
On the bright side - I did sign up for NaNoWriMo, and on the even brighter side I've written just over my 1667 words for today - and it's a Pros story! (So, hopefully one Pros novel coming up... *g*) Yeay!
On the think-y side, I don't know whether I'll post about it, but it might be kind of annoying if I do unless someone's doing it too (not that I have any idea what I might say, other than whee-I'm-up-to-blah-words or summat... But I might sometimes feel like doing that... *g*) Anyone else doing it? I think I've seen that a couple of people are...
And then there's the whole Torchwood thing... some people on my flist have said hurrah, TW recs and stuff! but I know lots of people won't be into it at all, and I feel kind of bad that my posts have been very TW-ish lately (but only cos my Pros-y posts have mostly been to the various comms), so...
Maybe I should do that whole filtering-for-fandom-and-writing-wibble thing? Maybe? Would you prefer it if I did? I know that I sigh a little when my flist is full of fandoms that I have no knowledge of/interest in, so...
A poll! Wheee, a poll!
[Poll #1479462]
Also, I'm thinking I really need to get my fic etc organised, cos I lost one the other day - someone listed it and I looked at the title and thought well it sounds familiar, but... and had to go all the way to Circuit Archive to find it... Which would have been very bad if it turned out not to have been on Circuit Archive... See - housekeeping!
Right - NPPW! And I'm already laaaate - but wheee, 1680 words of a Prosfic!

Date: Sunday, 1 November 2009 08:01 pm (UTC)See, I totally thought I'd do my masterlist via listing at palelyloitering, but then I'm so behind with it, and it seems kind of rude to post a listing for me before I do one for other people, so... maybe I should do one here... (in which case I'd just copy and paste it over anyway... hmmn!) Or if I got Auto Hatstand up to date then it could go there, but... But maybe I should just do it here, cos this is mine... *sighs indecisively...*
And now I'm even more late for LC! *g*

At least...that's my opinion. :-)

Date: Monday, 2 November 2009 09:38 pm (UTC)I think I must be a weirdfan though, or only partly fan or summat, cos I've been trying SPN and just... it hasn't grabbed me at all! Only Pros and TW have ever grabbed me at all in a fannish way! Well, maybe Buffy could have, way back when I was watching, before I knew there was fandom, but...
But yeay - nice and simple and non-filterish! Thank you! *g*

Date: Monday, 2 November 2009 09:41 pm (UTC)Oh - I like that! Call me maid again, it tickles... *vbg*
Definitely yes about the posting whatever you want whenever you want in your own journal. Our own journals. You know what I mean! *g* I guess I was thinking of it more like the way I do whatever I want in my own house - but sometimes I make sure I've closed a door or two... *g*
I'm interested in how I'll get on with NaNoWriMo too - I've been eyeing it sideways since I first got onto lj and figured out what it was... So far so good though - wheee! My fic writing seems to be getting longer and longer too, I find it harder to write short stuff these days... trouble is, it means I don't finish stuff too - eep!

Date: Sunday, 1 November 2009 08:27 pm (UTC)I'm not into Torchwood as a fandom, but I have absolutely no problem doing my own scrolling, and I don't feel the need to have it filtered out. So I'm fine with keeping up with all your lj life.

Date: Sunday, 1 November 2009 09:23 pm (UTC)I'm multi-fandomal too - and that really sounds like something I should be getting pills for - so I'm happy to see whatever you're in to... if you filtered your posts and only posted about Torchwood for a fortnight I'd probably come stalking you thinking you'd run off with the milkman or something... see, and the reason I can't find time to write is 'cos I ramble too much *g* I'd love to know how you get on with the
insane writing thingyNaNoWriMo, I'm in awe and wonder at everybody having a go at it.no subject

Heeeee for thinking of a fic list as a mini library - I love it, and I'm going to do exactly that! Brill idea - thank you! *vbg*

Date: Thursday, 12 November 2009 10:54 am (UTC)I join comms so that I can comment, which you can't always if you just watch or bookmark. Occasionally, if I realise I haven't read/commented for moths, I leave and just bookmark. That tidies up my profile...
Most days I only read what I've labelled 'very quick skim' though I occasionally alter the journals on that filter! When I log on I go to my friends' page then it asks you with a drop down menu what you want to read.
I certainly never get bored!!

Date: Thursday, 12 November 2009 10:57 am (UTC)I forgot about the commenting thing in comms - actually I do/can join a comm but not watch it, so that it doesn't come up in my flist - that's quite useful!
Lj is fab for never being bored, innit! *g*
