This is a sort of think-y post, in a hmmn-what-shall-I-do kind of way...

On the bright side - I did sign up for NaNoWriMo, and on the even brighter side I've written just over my 1667 words for today - and it's a Pros story! (So, hopefully one Pros novel coming up... *g*) Yeay!

On the think-y side, I don't know whether I'll post about it, but it might be kind of annoying if I do unless someone's doing it too (not that I have any idea what I might say, other than whee-I'm-up-to-blah-words or summat... But I might sometimes feel like doing that... *g*) Anyone else doing it? I think I've seen that a couple of people are...

And then there's the whole Torchwood thing... some people on my flist have said hurrah, TW recs and stuff! but I know lots of people won't be into it at all, and I feel kind of bad that my posts have been very TW-ish lately (but only cos my Pros-y posts have mostly been to the various comms), so...

Maybe I should do that whole filtering-for-fandom-and-writing-wibble thing? Maybe? Would you prefer it if I did? I know that I sigh a little when my flist is full of fandoms that I have no knowledge of/interest in, so...

A poll! Wheee, a poll!
[Poll #1479462]

Also, I'm thinking I really need to get my fic etc organised, cos I lost one the other day - someone listed it and I looked at the title and thought well it sounds familiar, but... and had to go all the way to Circuit Archive to find it... Which would have been very bad if it turned out not to have been on Circuit Archive... See - housekeeping!

Right - NPPW! And I'm already laaaate - but wheee, 1680 words of a Prosfic!

Yes, I get all twisted up about my non-Pros wibbles too but ... if you wanna Torchwood, go Torchwood *g* Oh and please let us know how the Nanonononono thingy's going and please carry on non-fandomming. Oh, just please carry on! ETA: and for what it's worth I think you should definitely do your ficcy masterlist organizey thing. Nearly did my head in but quite cool when it's done (and devilish useful for us *g*)

Heee - you make me giggle! *g*

See, I totally thought I'd do my masterlist via listing at palelyloitering, but then I'm so behind with it, and it seems kind of rude to post a listing for me before I do one for other people, so... maybe I should do one here... (in which case I'd just copy and paste it over anyway... hmmn!) Or if I got Auto Hatstand up to date then it could go there, but... But maybe I should just do it here, cos this is mine... *sighs indecisively...*

And now I'm even more late for LC! *g*

As someone who is multi-fandom herself, I say show everything. True, I'm a little Supernatural crazed these days, but I still love the lads, and other fandoms as well. I like to see what my flist is up to, whether it's something that I'm into or not. It's interesting. And who knows--I might get lured away into something new at some point. :-)

We're humans. We're not static. We change. Our Live Journals should reflect that.

At least...that's my opinion. :-)

Hee - we do change, it's true, but sometimes if there's less to hold us together we end up floating away and... erm... some other clever metaphoric thing... *g*

I think I must be a weirdfan though, or only partly fan or summat, cos I've been trying SPN and just... it hasn't grabbed me at all! Only Pros and TW have ever grabbed me at all in a fannish way! Well, maybe Buffy could have, way back when I was watching, before I knew there was fandom, but...

But yeay - nice and simple and non-filterish! Thank you! *g*

Maid, it's your journal! Post whatever the heck you want to, whenever you want. Maybe I'm the nosey sort, but I'm interested in you, not just your fandoms. And I'm with Jo, please keep us updated on the Nanononononono thing, I'd be so interested in how you get on with that. It sounds like such a brilliant thing to sign up to, but completely daunting at the same time, especially for me because I doubt any of my fics are longer than 1700 words, let alone writing 50,0000. Plus, Pros novel at the end of it - too cool for school!

Maid, it's your journal!
Oh - I like that! Call me maid again, it tickles... *vbg*

Definitely yes about the posting whatever you want whenever you want in your own journal. Our own journals. You know what I mean! *g* I guess I was thinking of it more like the way I do whatever I want in my own house - but sometimes I make sure I've closed a door or two... *g*

I'm interested in how I'll get on with NaNoWriMo too - I've been eyeing it sideways since I first got onto lj and figured out what it was... So far so good though - wheee! My fic writing seems to be getting longer and longer too, I find it harder to write short stuff these days... trouble is, it means I don't finish stuff too - eep!

I'm with An here( honestly, how many times have I scribbled that?:) I'm multi-fandomal too. Not always evenly - Like An, I'm Superntaural up to here these days.

I'm not into Torchwood as a fandom, but I have absolutely no problem doing my own scrolling, and I don't feel the need to have it filtered out. So I'm fine with keeping up with all your lj life.

Well yeay and thank you! *g* I've actually tried watching SPN and just absolutely couldn't work up any enthusiasm for it... Which I know, is like... worse than heresy or summat, but... I dunno... *hugs Pros* *hugs TW*

I'm sort of the mind that it's not going to kill me to scroll past a TW post from time to time. It's your LJ, you should be able to put whatever you want on it. :-)

Oh, definitely yes about putting whatever we want in our own ljs... I said above to someone that I was thinking of it more like doing whatever you want in your own house - but sort of pulling the door to so as not to disturb other people sometimes, you know? But yeay, if scrolling works then I'm all happy too! I like simple, simple is nice... *g*

I'm multi-fandomal too - and that really sounds like something I should be getting pills for - so I'm happy to see whatever you're in to... if you filtered your posts and only posted about Torchwood for a fortnight I'd probably come stalking you thinking you'd run off with the milkman or something... see, and the reason I can't find time to write is 'cos I ramble too much *g* I'd love to know how you get on with the insane writing thingy NaNoWriMo, I'm in awe and wonder at everybody having a go at it.

Lol - see, I'm so not multifandomal, I'm not even really dualfandomal, although I like TW in my own little way... but I'm not really tempted into the comms (yet, I guess) except when I'm all brave enough to say thank you to someone for a fic... But... I'm strangely posting mostly about it in my lj, which is odd to me anyway! I guess no one else really minds! *g*

And yeay NaNoWriMo so far - day two = still fun... *g*

I must admit, I thought that many more people - well, like any, really - would say "No thankyou, TW!" But yeay that they didn't... and yeay that you love TW too, cos you probably don't mind my TW posts... *g* Ooh, did I post the Rescue vid yet..? I like that one too, and I know I meant to... *g*

My philosophy has always been that it is your journal and you get to write about whatever you want to write about in it. Anyone who isn't interested is free to scroll on past.

Heeeee for thinking of a fic list as a mini library - I love it, and I'm going to do exactly that! Brill idea - thank you! *vbg*

Unanimous decision there! I don't have a problem with rec posts for fandoms I don't follow (you never know, one day I might actually be pimped in) and I enjoy your weird rambling on not-fandom posts.

I say post what you want - I am sure most people are multi fandom and won't mind. But if you do stop posting TW recs, could you send me them anyway? I always check out your recs and we have similer taste :)

Oh, I shall definitely post what I want - but I was thinking of it like doing whatever I want to do at home, sometimes I pull the door to so that I don't disturb other people! *g* So I shall keep on posting TW recs, for as long as I find fab TW stuff... *g*

And yeay for similar tastes! You know, if you come across anything you've not seen me mention, I'd love to hear about it too... *vbg*

I always filter my reading so that if, for example, I'm in a terrible hurry I only read those of my f'list who might have urgent news of some kind. I never automatically read comm updates - just log in if I want something to read. Some of my friends have fandoms even I know nothing about... But most of my f'list are my f'list because I'm interested in them, and therefore in their posts about anything. If I'm in a normal sort of hurry I don't always open cuts. I think cuts with warnings are probably the way to avoid spamming people with TMI. But in general, keep it all coming!!

From: [identity profile] byslantedlight.livejournal.com
I am so late replying - I'm sorry! It's so interesting to hear how people work their flists, and relate to their flists as well! I know I read every single comm update that comes up in my flist - but then I only join comms if I know I want to read them all, otherwise I just bookmark them for checking now and then... And I thought about filtering my flist, but you can't sort of lock it to the filter can you, you have to keep it bookmarked or summat... and then of course I'd probably be worried that I'd miss something, anyway, if I did that... *g* So yeah, very like your most of my f'list are my f'list because I'm interested in them really!

I do tend to do cuts with an indication of what's underneath at least - hopefully that's enough not to drive people too mad... *g*

If you use a filter system you can then use the 'show this entry to' button at the end of the post to post to just that filter. I sometimes only post to UK f'list, for example.

I join comms so that I can comment, which you can't always if you just watch or bookmark. Occasionally, if I realise I haven't read/commented for moths, I leave and just bookmark. That tidies up my profile...

Most days I only read what I've labelled 'very quick skim' though I occasionally alter the journals on that filter! When I log on I go to my friends' page then it asks you with a drop down menu what you want to read.

I certainly never get bored!!

From: [identity profile] byslantedlight.livejournal.com
Oh yes, I do do custom filters now and then, but not as a general rule - that's why I did the poll in fact, to find out whether people would like me to! *g*

I forgot about the commenting thing in comms - actually I do/can join a comm but not watch it, so that it doesn't come up in my flist - that's quite useful!

Lj is fab for never being bored, innit! *g*
