Pros-y pics and fics and chats please?

Today is grey and today is blargh, although it's not as blargh as yesterday was - for no apparent reason yesterday was the epitome of blargh, and actually everyone I spoke to said that they'd had a lousy day too, except for a 6 year old who'd had a great time. Today so far is better, but...
I don't suppose you'd help me make it properly better? Sort of kick-start the way to a good weekend, maybe? By posting something Pros-y in your own ljs, so my flist becomes all gloriously Pros-y, which is always happy-making?
For example...

...the lads interrupted - a pic from our gorgeous Lorraine Brevig (up at the Circuit, so presumably it's fine to copy over to here - let me know if not! I was going to put the other Circuit one up too, but it's not work safe... *g*)...and from our gorgeous Crimson, from the 2007 Dialj Christmas Special... *sighs for happy lads*...
Anyone else...? Fave pics, or zines or icons or... oh, anything Pros-y, really... Please? Make blarghy days better? *g*

blargh ....
Date: Thursday, 4 February 2010 02:26 pm (UTC)Let me see .... well I finally got a chance to watch Need to Know the other day and really rather liked it - loved the twisty devious plot, it was such fun, and enjoyed B&D arresting Cowley *g* (ooh I like his mews place - rather nice, even if his taste in interior decorating is a bit gloomy *g*). The "Irish" lawyer with her cut-glass English accent was a bit ridiculous, though, as was the idea of walking into the nearest gambling den and helping themselves to an apparently random Chinese pusher .... but I liked them having a laugh at Cowley's Chinese!
And I'm so looking forward to the Big Bang stuff, but though I wanted to throw out a few plot bunnies my mind has gone horribly blank (too much to do, too little energy to do it with :( ) and I don't even have any bunnies ::snff:: alas no bunnies :(((
Never mind, I expect they'll wander back at some point - probably at an awkward moment, as bunnies are wont to do.
I shall be thinking of you all, off on your beautiful barge - there now, you do have some really lovely things to look forward to! ::sends hot cup of tea::
Oh and apropos of absolutely nothing: I've been re-reading Gerald Durrell's accounts of his collecting trips (the attitudes are so glaringly ... different; you can really tell he's writing at a time when he couldn't count on publishing with lots - or any - photos; he's very funny).
Re: blargh ....
Date: Thursday, 4 February 2010 04:29 pm (UTC)Oooh - I forget you've not seen all the eps yet! I don't know how you can bear it, I have have have to just ramp through everything when I first have it. Never could save half my sweets for the next day either, come to think of it... *g* Need to Know is quite fun actually, isn't it - the lads are still together, and they bob up and down in copper's outfits, and we get to see MS refusing to wear his hat, and laughing at Lew's... *g*
Mind you, I dunno how ridiculous is really is, the idea that police could walk into any gambling den and pick a random Chinese/black/Asian/junkie/hooker, plant something on them and take them away again... I suspect it still goes on more than we might hope, even if it's in sneakier ways... The media wasn't on the side of the poor undertrodden immigrants back then you know... and they're not now, generally...
Big Bang should be fun, but it's not until August! And I'm not convinced they're going to get m/any more artists/vidders etc either - we just don't have that many in Pros at the moment... *sighs* Actually that's one thing I'm a bit dubious about - because I have such specific visions of my stories etc, and try to write them so that other people see those too (believe it or not... *g*) I do think it might be a bit weird to suddenly have a story associated with an artwork that might be completely opposite the atmosphere I'd hoped to create... cos once it's there you can't take it out of people's heads, so it'd then affect how they read the story, and... Hmmn...
But yeah, bunnies come at odd times... I don't have any bunnies for that yet either, but then I'm working on picfor1000, and on a dialj challenge (someone's got to... *g*) so 12,000 words for August - or even June - seems like a very long time away. I'm such a last-minute bunny...
Shame you're not coming to our beautiful barge... If we did a beautiful London gathering one time, d'you think you might be able to break away for a morning/afternoon/day? Evening, heaven forbid? *g*
And oh, Gerald Durrell! My mum had all his books, and so I read them and really liked them too... He was funny... and it was fun to visit his zoo on Jersey a few years ago too (hmmn, just as I'd got into Pros, I seem to remember!)

Date: Thursday, 4 February 2010 02:57 pm (UTC)Also, I sort of have an idea for my big bang thing, but was wondering if - to cheer you up - there is anything YOU would like to request in it (or a different story entirely - which I will also write anytime after the next week or so)? Just let me know if you'd like me to abuse you with my shoddy writing! :D
LOVE xxxxxa

Date: Thursday, 4 February 2010 04:34 pm (UTC)Yeay big bang ideas! And hee - thank you! Ooh - I don't know what you've already got in your idea, I'd hate to derail it... I do like the lads outside of London somehow, if you happened to fancy abusing me with the shoddiness of that... Oh, and I could fancy some hurt-Doyle/comfort-from-Bodie fic... It always seems to be the other way around, these days... *g* Oh, please please do abuse me with your shoddy writing, it's my favouritist abuse ever! If you need a break over the next week or so... happen to fancy chucking the lads out into the wilderness for a bit of... summat... *g* Ooh, that'd cheer me up no end, actually, I'm all cheered up from the vague possibility of it! *adores Alice-fic...* *g* Hugs and hot toddies to you too!

Date: Friday, 5 February 2010 12:37 am (UTC)And here I was, looking at the first one and wondering what episode the screen cap was from and why I'd never noticed them being this close on screen before!
Admittedly, I hadn't enlarged them yet, but still! They are amazing!

Date: Thursday, 4 February 2010 04:27 pm (UTC)I loved your fic. I was fascinated by the 'marriage as cover' idea, especially as we only learned the truth gradually and of course Doyle had to be kept out of the picture so that it would all seem legitimate. I loved his reactions. I enjoyed the conversation of the 'honeymoon' couple too! That was a delightful Christmas fic and I have saved it to read again next Christmas.

Date: Thursday, 4 February 2010 04:59 pm (UTC)It's so funny hearing back from people about stories (in a good way!) cos I don't know about you, but I get so into them when I'm writing them that it's as tangled in my head as real life is, which always makes me worry frantically whether other people are seeing what I think I'm writing... It seems to work out though, mostly... *g*
Thank you!

Date: Thursday, 4 February 2010 05:47 pm (UTC)Both when I'm writing and when I'm reading it's as if there's a film playing in my head - a 3D one with sounds and smells and feelings. And yes, the characters, my own and other people's, are quite real!

I love your idea of posting something to cheer us all up - I'll have a ferret around on my hard drive later and see what I've got lurking. So to speak *hg*
