Ah, Windsor, the traditional English scenery... *g*

...but best of all, another evening watching MS as Frank Elgin in The Country Girl...

Four of us last night, sitting right there in the front row, and this time I was so central that the seam of the curtains were right in front of me - wheee! *g* It was another very mixed audience too, which was good - not just row upon row of women sitting up front! *g* So, what happened...

- JS fluffed her lines again, several times...
- MS and ML had a lovely look between them when MS threw a chair across the room and it broke rather spectacularly, and I reckon it broke even more spectacularly than he'd expected. Or else he'd been told not to throw it so hard he broke it again. Or else he'd promised to be more careful. Or else... well, something - he just looked for a moment more laughing-at-this-cos-he-couldn't-help-it than purely acting... *g*
- He was good... *vbg* Again.
- There were still differences in the way people played their parts - Nancy didn't catch herself accidentally and go to look into the "peer glass", she stopped on purpose and asked Georgie if she could...
- MS is still very bendy - there's a bit where he's talking about the part his character is playing, and he gets down on one knee and sort of gestures around and in front of him, and he just still makes it look so effortless
- They ran out of programmes (but they had photocopied colour pics of the middle poster to give out instead)!
- I can't believe it's going to be weeks until I can see it again! (Shush... *g*)
- I really would like to get my hands on a copy of the script, but it seems to be elusive at a reasonable price... hmmmn...
- I know I'm biased, but I do like Letheran too, and the Stage Manager, and in fact I think the cast is all good, but... MS really does have presence on stage (I expect in real life too - bet he's just one of those people), and he seems so much more solid in his role, somehow, than some of the others, and just... confident, I guess... A reckoned he fluffed a line tonight, but I've got to admit that if he did then I didn't notice it, unlike with JS and ML... He's good... *g*

And it's already time to go to bed for work tomorrow (since I can walk and stay awake and all now... *sighs*) I did waste time watching Sherlock when I got home, though - it's rather good, innit... *g* Interesting... Doesn't hurt that it's BBC Cymru, and the Doctor Who people, oh and Mark Gatiss who was in Worried About the Boy that I rather liked as well... Jolly d all round, then... *g* Though I've missed NPPW again...

How're y'all doin'...?

I loved _Sherlock_. Loved, loved, loved it. I can't wait until I can get my hands on the second episode. I gather that's the one you watched tonight - "Blind Banker" I think. I've only seen "A Study in Pink".

Sherlock was actually much more fun and original than I was expecting, and believable (in that it's-telly kind of way *g*). I actually watched both last night, cos I didn't know it was on last week - yeay for iPlayer! Was very glad I did catch up too, though I gather there's only three of them, so the next will be the last (for now, anyway) - waah!

I must admit I didn't expect to like it as much as I did - I thought it would probably try to be too-clever, but in fact it did very well! *g*

Sounds like a fab experience! Glad you were able to make it despite the fall!!

I got back and online and in the world again and then Vista broke on my laptop. Now mended (well, replaced with Windows 7) but people seem to have chosen this weekend to have all sorts of incredible things happening.

I have posted about Portugal and am about to post a rec for a fic I read while I was away. I'm also going to cath up with Sherlock, which everyone seems to agree is wonderful.

I'm glad I made it too, he really was jolly good - and it's nice to have things like that confirmed by seeing it in real life! *g*

I enjoyed Sherlock much more than I expected to - although I did catch myself thinking my, but policemen are young these days... *g* I thought it might be much more self conscious, but it was just jolly good fun... *g*

Eep for Vista breaking - I've never heard of that happening, I must say (*touches whole forests of wood*)...

What's this? The third time you've seen TCG? You'll know the lines off by heart soon. *bg* I do envy you though.
Glad that being a 'clumsy clot' didn't stop you from going to the Theatre.

Erm - would you believe it was the fourth? And there will be more...? I might be slightly obsessed... *g* It's a nice obsession, and fun to have - I've had movie-obsessions before, and of course book-obsessions, but never a theatre-obsession! *g* And yeay very much for being able to walk and stay awake and watch theatre, too! *g*

I'm so pleased MS is good in the part and still bendy! And Letheran *is* a good actor, he played a gay counsellor for a while in Casualty. I'm afraid I've never been very keen on JS - I always feels she's a bit holier than thou and slightly boring in her earnestness but having said that, she doesn't look quite so Jenny Seagrove-ish in this part.

[Can you remind me which play MS was appearing in when he passed you in the street in Windsor? It's bugging me that I can't remember.}

Oh, I knew I had comments to catch up still, but I couldn't think where - sorry! It was Murder on Air I went to see in Windsor when I passed MS in the street - the very first run of it... aha - here it is! *g*.

I've not seen Letheran before, though he sort of looked familiar - but they all seemed to do very well and looking like their parts (if that makes sense), especially compared to their headshots in the programme.

I'm with you about Jenny Seagrove actually - I can't seem to warm to her, not in any of the parts I've seen her play on stage, or in JJD. She was fun in Horse's Tails, but even so I don't get any feeling of real warmth, or presence from her - she's just sort of there, doing her thing... I'm sure she is lovely as a person etc, but... she's no MS, or Nicola McAuliffe, who was also fab in Horses' Tales...

Ah, yes, *that* was it! Thanks and thanks for the link.

I can't believe you've been to see it four times. oh, then again p'raps I can ... it is you we're talking about here!

I suppose if Lewis was appearing on stage somewhere then I might consider moving house to be nearby *g*. We don't get any culture down this end of the country.

Hey, and guess what? I fell down stairs on Saturday! I couldn't believe my stupidity ... just stepping off and missing my footing completely. No real damage done ... just some spectacular bruising to my left buttock and a slightly pulled shoulder ... but it was frightening knowing there was little I could do to stop my momentum. Hey ho!

Glad you're feeling better again and that your fall didn't interfere with your Country Girl crusade *g*

Now then - a wee obsession never did anyone any harm... *g*

But eeeeep you for falling downstairs - don't do that! It's not big, and it's not clever and it huuuuurts... I'm glad you're mostly okay, but... oh, do be careful on your stairs, they're scary... I wish you could make them into less-scary stairs instead...
