*slightly grumpy post*

Am waiting for midnight, which is when the wedding being held across the road will apparently shut the fuck up... The tents started going up in the field on Friday morning, there was a sign (on the Public Footpath sign) for a wedding by Friday afternoon, and in the meantime they'd put up a massive fuck-off marquee. Sure enough, the house in which I live has been vibrating for the last four hours to their happy wedding disco... Which would have been better with a little more notice so that I could arrange to escape (and a little less whiplash and tinnitus) but... just... gargh! They've got two minutes, and then I'd like to have my headache in peace and quiet please... I know, wedding, happy-happy, but... gargh!
Landlady (very cleverly) has gone off to a friend's for the night, so I've at least had the downstairs telly (even the back room furthest from the front road made no difference to the noise, mind - it's everywhere, literally permeating the whole village. Back in the old (old) days the whole village would have been invited (and known who it was getting married) but not in 2010... In 2010 we get a piece of paper through our letterbox one the day (but dated 5 days ago) saying that they were having a wedding, would be unavoidably noisy, but that the music would be quiet by midnight).
It's a minute past midnight and I can hear the dj... oh no, I can hear the music starting up again. Quel surpris.
Just... gargh!
And despite sitting in front of my laptop all morning, I got no decent writing done at all. Total waste of a day.
Waaaah!
/sulk (Well not really, but I'm going to try not to talk about it any more...)

Date: Sunday, 19 September 2010 09:23 am (UTC)Bit short notice for you, as you say. At least with more prior warning you could have organised something to get you out of the house.
