I left work an hour early today (hooray!) and found myself Christmas shopping in the snow - wheeee! And it was pretty and Christmas-y and I wanted to eat hot chestnuts and listen to carol singers, and see small children with their noses pressed against toy shop windows! Oh, and drink mulled wine, but the people in L'Occitane didn't offer me any. Though I had two - two! - mulled wine chocolates in Hotel Du Chocolat, and they were lush! They're only in the variety boxes though, not on their own, which is a huge shame because I would have bought all of them... Anyway - where was I? (Apart from giddy with Christmas-shopping-Exhaustion?)

Innit pretty? Even more so with the rain-shiny pavement...

And this is what it really looked like (I was trying to prove that it was snow) and then the next pic is one that I adore, cos the snow is going wheeeee!

I walked past a few wee pine trees on the way back to my car, and the light and the snow and the drips were just irresistable... such a shame I don't seem to have had my focus on - rats!

And then I was home, and out in the coont-reee the snow was lying on the ground, and clinging to the hedges - yeay! It's now, apparently, freezing in puddles all over the ground so that we'll all break our legs tomorrow (according to Landlady) but for now it's just pretty in the moonlight!

I was supposed to wrap things when I got home so I could post them tomorrow, but my arms didn't want to lift up high enough to hold the stickytape... and now I muuuuust go to bed.

Yeay for tomorrow being Friday... and for snow. *vbg*

Very pretty! And I adore Hotel Chocolat!

I beat the snow home, although there was a fairly heavy burst on the A34. Just so long as it holds off for me to go shopping tomorrow . . . *g*

I'm just glad I can't get to Hotel Chocolat (for some reason I could have sworn there was a du in there - if I knew what it meant then I might have known!) very often, cos mmmmn.... *g*

And yeay and phew for beating the snow home - and eeep for Christmas shopping today - good luck with it!

It does look beautiful. And mulled wine chocolates, eh? mmmmm. Sounds irresistible! Are they fiendishly expensive? I may have to pretend very hard that they don't exist, because that kind of temptation can really get the better of me! *g*

Glad you got in safe and sound, and mind your step in the morning!

The trouble with the mulled wine chocolates is that you can't buy them on their own, you've got to buy one of the variety boxes (depends what you call expensive, I guess... *g* Hmmn - I can see two of them in this "Sleekster" Christmas box of 30 chocs... there are little stocking filler Christmas boxes for £6 too, but I can't see the mulled wine chocs in there (though there's something hidden under that ribbon!) Perhaps you should haunt the shop regularly in the hope of finding free samples... *g*

I was all careful this morning, thank you! You be careful too - did you guys have snow? Or ice overnight?

Lovely! Really really pretty. Thanks for posting!!
Just off to bed in very frosty Portugal prior to driving tomorrow through frosty/snowy Spain to catch ferry over stormy Bay of Biscay to reach snowy Portsmouth. Think of me....

I wondered where you'd be spending Christmas - I thought it might have been Portugal, with the cold we've had over here! Sounds like you'll have a gorgeous drive - though be careful! I'm hoping you're like my uncles as far as the crossing goes too - the wilder it was, the more they liked it! Happy travels, in any case!

Chestnuts! I just had chestnuts tonight. I love those things.

Nice pics.

I only had chestnuts for the first time earlier this year, on the Writing Hol in Derbyshire, and they were rather good! I've always been curious when I've seen them on the streets, but I actually haven't seen them all that often - I've assumed they're confined to London...

Anyway - thank you!

It is really pretty! I have only looked at it through the window-- it somehow feels like sneaking looks at magic.

Happy Friday!

You might have had much more than us - you'll have to take some pics so that I can compare! It is magical, isn't it... *g*
