The colour of Wednesday...

Is it really only Wednesday? Eep... Better have a random picture of amazingness.

It's NASA's astronomy picture of today, though I fiddled with it a little - it's slightly cropped and autobrightened, cos it looked very dark on my screen and I wanted light... It also features the Twelve Apostles etc from the Great Ocean Road that was a holiday-ish part my childhood and my recent return to Aus. Mostly I love it for the colour though - I don't know about you, but I'm needing some colour right now! The second week of the year is always a bit blargh I suppose - not quite the optimistic first week, cos you've settled back far enough into life to know that nothing's changed or magic about the new year after all... Yet. *g*
I've still to work out what I'm going to do with 2012, which is odd... or at least my current plans are quiet practical ones, which need expanding into gorgeousness and joy as soon as possible... Has anyone got plans and expectations for 2012? Please inspire me!
Or maybe I should just pull myself together and get on with something! *g*

Date: Wednesday, 11 January 2012 11:24 am (UTC)(Also, one of the things I do have scheduled to look forward to is a play I'm off to see in London, so it wasn't quite true to say I have nothing planned at all... I guess I'm just fancying a proper get-away/do something completely different right now! I've been in this job for soooo long, by my standards!

Date: Wednesday, 11 January 2012 11:31 am (UTC)Something completely different? That waterfall still awaits you... come down and we can hunt waterfalls. (Bet you've seen bigger in NZ, but still.)

Date: Wednesday, 11 January 2012 01:17 pm (UTC)Are we looking at a portion of the earth through a fish-eye lens? Where's Australia? Is that tree canopy or volcanic activity?
Ooh, I've just clicked on the link ... didn't help much. *g*
Cracking picture though.

Date: Wednesday, 11 January 2012 01:43 pm (UTC)On a slightly more serious note, I will need to buy a house *groan* and move again *extra loud groan*. Not looking forward to that much. However, just think what a lot I've learned from this last few weeks!
Are there any Pros-type cons, gatherings, gab-fests etc on the cards? That might be fun.

Date: Wednesday, 11 January 2012 02:24 pm (UTC)Yeay decent cameras and photo weekends in London - yes!
And I'm definitely expecting Pros-y gatherings too - the Writing Holiday and the Scarsdale again, for two, and then I'd quite like to do something over the weekend of 19th May (I should start exploring that, shouldn't I... *g*), and... and... there was talk of going to Maldon again, but that'd have to be... oh, before April I think while the barge is still static, and... Yeah, Pros-y things! *g*

Date: Wednesday, 11 January 2012 02:43 pm (UTC)I have a way-out one - to requalify as a solicitor. It'll take years, rather than months, but I really feel like starting the process now. Impatient, even.
More gorgeousness and joy is needed, definitely, and Pros-y get-togethers. Impatient for that, too.
I still harbour the fantasy (more than plan) of organising a locations tour outside London in the Maidenhead-Marlow area. I'm particularly tempted by a riverboat trip from Marlow to Windsor.

Date: Wednesday, 11 January 2012 03:52 pm (UTC)I like your way-out plan - what a brilliant plan, and even better if you're actually impatient to begin it (that's the best kind of plan, I reckon... *g*)
And of course Pros-y ones... Perhaps there should be tentative questions and arrangements (though you won't like the date that - you already know - I'm especially hankering after, so we might need to make two sets of plans... *sighs at the probable impossibility*...)

Oh wow, me too! When shall we do that one?!
Why is the Maidenhead-Marlow locations tour a fantasy rather than a plan? What's un-doable about it?

Date: Wednesday, 11 January 2012 04:01 pm (UTC)Also this summer isn't a good time to be going near London, would need to be well before or after after the Olympics.

Date: Wednesday, 11 January 2012 04:07 pm (UTC)Bloody hell, I had totally forgotten (how?) about that point.

Date: Wednesday, 11 January 2012 04:08 pm (UTC)Which is half the joy, so presumably you wouldn't want someone to offer to help with that...? *g*
Good point about the summer though - hmmn, I wonder if that means that other UK locations will be emptier/more reasonable? Or just the opposite, perhaps, with the Londonians looking to escape... You know, I was half-wondering if anyone would be up for a Pros-y type camping holiday, maybe at... oh, not Downsea Farm, cos that's from my fic, but at the campsite in Dorset that

Date: Wednesday, 11 January 2012 04:06 pm (UTC)In fact that's a big part of my motivation to have a Home Counties locations tour of our own - on different dates.
Count me in for Maldon, if it's not too late in the year to book.

Date: Wednesday, 11 January 2012 04:11 pm (UTC)I'll have to look up Maldon though - I'm not sure that's available in May, cos they take the barges out to sail again when it warms up again (though I'd love to do that one day too - a wee bit pricier, though...)

Date: Wednesday, 11 January 2012 10:21 pm (UTC)I think I just want to survive it really. Get fit somehow without having to do any exercise. And erm finish my book that I haven't written any of for so long I can hardly remember what it's all about.
Oh dear - not very inspirational really. I *am* optimistic though, which is a good start :D

Date: Wednesday, 11 January 2012 10:29 pm (UTC)Hey, maybe we can get fit without doing any exercise together? *g* And books...
Yeay for optimism though - I seem to be still working up to that... *g*
