...at long, at very long last... It's been a bit of a week, it really has. On the bright side, I have a new icon that I've been waiting since last weekend to use - annoyingly I think my lovely real-life bottle might end up staying sealed tonight, so I shall just have to luxuriate in the icon instead...

On the bright side, the night sky's been rather fab this last week - these photos are a bit rubbish, but they might remind you, if you saw it... *g*

Full moon!

Then one night, I stood marvelling at the incredible brightness of the Evening Star (did you see it this week?!), and then went around to the other side of the house and there was the moon rising - all golden and huge...

Really, the stars are never so bright that I can capture them looking like this on my wee camera without a zoom or anything!

I thought I'd be all relaxed-out after last weekend's laziness, but right now I don't want to move from this room... I'm sleeeeepy... and behind on all things lj and Pros-ish, including working out how make Kompozer work, because I almost had it the other day, but... not quite. And then I was grumpy-sleepy-face-achey for the rest of the week... So this weekend is going to be catching up, I reckon! *g* Catching up whilst still in pyjamas and barely moving from this room... But first perhaps, a quick collapse in front of t'box... *g*

That glass of wine looks so tempting! I'm up to my neck in cardboard boxes, getting ready for my move and a little drink might just help me switch my brain off long enough to get a few hours sleep.

Fabulous piccies, as usual. I know it's very bright at the moment because the moonlight is shining into my eyes all night due to my incredibly stoopid skylights 15 feet above my bed. Which drip condensation onto my pillow and sometimes onto me. At some point soon I will move the bed, borrow a ladder and block them out with card - can you imagine when the sun rises at 4:34am?????

Anyway, sorry - back to your post. Hope you can catch up and that the face-ache goes away very soon. And the wine looks good!

heh! my sympathies! The feeble blind fitted on our skylight is feeble, and this week it has felt like there's a light on outside.

The OH (they have their uses, esp. one with woodworking tools) cut a sheet of plywood to fit over the skylight in the bedroom. It works really well, in fact too well to use it for mornings when you have to be up with the lark.

Hee - I lived in Alaska for years, I can imagine when it rises at 2.34am... *g*

It's morning now, and the moon is shining through mist and the still-dark at me - I wonder if it wouldn't have woken me if I'd left my curtains open...? Which I might have, if people in the houses either side didn't leave their porch lights on all night... *sighs*

You skylights sound like another gorgeously aesthetic idea that's hell to live with - it'd be the condensation dripping that made me maddest I think. Your landlord should be responsible for fixing things like that, you know...

oh, I love your icon! (reaches for glass - oh dear, empty - nips out for a refill)

And the moon has been brilliant, it struck me particularly when I went outside about 9 on Tuesday night.

But it's still wintery and cold and dark, and that saps the energy and makes it hard to do anything but laze about indoors.

It's a good icon, isn't it! I saw it and loved it and had to have it - and luckily it was available for public consumption (credit to [livejournal.com profile] iconomicon!)

I really like winter, for all its different weathers - the moon is hanging over dark-morning misty fields right now - and I'm usually as full of energy as at any other time of year, but not this year... I think perhaps my face-ache needs fixing!

Love the icon! And your pics too - they're really good for just a wee camera. I feel so sad for people who live with the night sky swamped by street lights - it's been lush the last few nights.

And your lazing about weekend sounds pretty fine to me. Go for it - sleep, relax, recover! nail the door shut, take the phone off the hook - um, that might be my plan *g*

Enjoy relaxing and staying in, and I hope your achy face is feeling better! Brilliant icon, and oh so tempting, but it's only 2pm here, and there is still shopping to do.
Your pics are always so good, even with a no frills camera!
It's been very cold and clear here. I should make it a point to go outside tonight and take a look.
Right now I'm watching overwintering hummingbirds on the feeder outside the window. Fortunately, it's close to the window and the food hasn't frozen, so far.

Thank you - I've woken up still face-achey, but with a bit more energy, so we'll see! There's a bit of me that would like to do something explore-ish, this morning... but my car's a bit poorly and is off to the mechanic on Monday, so I really shouldn't... Maybe I'll see if the weather's going to be nice, and go rescue my bike from its rest... *g*

The moon is right now peering through a very misty morning - quite lovely, really!

Hummingbirds in your garden - how brilliant!

Isn't it a great icon! *g* And thanks for being nice about the pics - it's actually not such a wee camera really, but if I'm going to post pics like that then I really need to get it a tripod and a zoomier lens!

Lazing about is good - but it's odd for me that I want to do it, it's not often my thing these days, cos I effectively laze about at work all day... At the weekends I usually want to move out of a chair!

We were driving down the M40 on Monday evening and saw the evening star and the moon just as you describe. Fabulous! And thanks for the pics!

They're gorgeous, aren't they! And oooh - pretty icon! I should have used one of your moon icons for this post really, but the wine was more flavour-of-the-night... *g*

The wine is a fab icon! Did you make it? My autumn/winter moon one is by [livejournal.com profile] magic_art. There are some gorgeous icons on that comm.

Noooooo - not in a million years did I make it! I credit makers in brackets after the keyword, and this was made by [livejournal.com profile] iconomicon. Every now and then I go trawling icon sites for new ones, and even more rarely I see an icon I like and trace it back just in case it was made for public consumption - and this one was! *g*

Thanks!
*rushes off to investigate site and probably grab wine icon*
I can recommend both [livejournal.com profile] roxicons and [livejournal.com profile] magic_art. I usedf to visit [livejournal.com profile] nomnomicons but it hasn't been updated for over a year, though the posts are still there.

Love the icon :-) But, as I am off wine at the moment, sadly the icon is as far as I will get to it :-)
