...I'm feeling in need, though I shouldn't be... stoopid life...

I had to take my car to the garage today (they don't have points any more, they have pricey coils... *headdesk*) - on the bright side, it's right by a train station, so I could get within half an hour's walk of work this morning, and not be too late. On the other bright side, I drove towards the sunrise, and the fields were misty - I drove under strands of mist at one point! - and the sunrise was red, red red. It actually looks comparatively orange on this pic, taken from the station when it had died down a bit in intensity. It'll be interesting to see whether shepherds (or sailors) need to take warning though... It's looking blue-skyed and gorgeous so far, and it was frosty-cold...

I've been trawling for Wonderful Things, but it must be Monday everywhere, because I'm not coming up with much... And boss is being irritating again, and I have other-work that I should have started by now, and Things To Do, and just no motivation... What I did find was a few sites suggesting we ask the question What's good right now? I've got to admit, I'm struggling with that a little bit today too - stoopid me, cos there's lots of good things! The sky is still gorgeously blue, and there's interesting chat at [livejournal.com profile] ci5hq's new Beta Central feature. There!

What about you, happy flist - what's good right now? Cheer, please! *g*

What's good right now, you ask: your lovely pic for one thing. I have been enjoying your photos and hope you will post more. Other good things, it's a federal holiday here in the states (and the sky is a lovely soft blue) so the Robeau Kitties and I get to spend the day together - of course I'm supposed to be finishing a press statement, writing a work blog and memorizing a bit of a speech, but it's early, the coffee's still hot and the kitties cuddly so we'll put that off just a bit longer.

Okay, I'm definitely vicariously enjoying that - what bliss to be curled up on a sunny morning with a good cup of coffee... I bought coffee this morning, and it was awful... Oh, and yeay for your "bank holiday" too - Martin Luther King's birthday, I think? There's another good thing - I've got a Llewellyn's calendar this year, and even though the dates and moons are in American, I do like the pictures!

What's good right now?

I have ideas for DIALJ stories! (Love the new challenge)

My phone has taken magic photos - must learn how to upload them without uploading the wrong ones - bunny rabbits at play in the middle of the city, and trees against the sunrise. And yes, the sky is sooo blue...

Oh yeah, the new challenge should be fun, shouldn't it! I'm hoping that means you're going to play... *g*

And now I'm hoping to see your magic pictures at some point too - do post them, it's always fun to see bunnies at play and sunrises and trees... Ooh, we could play [livejournal.com profile] scene_again if we have the same sunrise in different places! *g* I wonder if anyone else took pictures of it...

I'm hoping that means you're going to play... *g* - Play? This time, I shall work at it. Seriously, feel free to kick my arse about this (she says, after three glasses of wine) because ideas are easy for this one.

Hadn't seen that comm, but looks cool. If I understand the idea, yes, we can. I have sunrise on Sat and Sun last.

Wow - what a glorious sunrise you had.

Good things... hmmmm!

Hazelnut latte. I shouldn't, but I did *g*

Beautiful stunning lovely day out there - all blue sky and sunshine; January half over already, which, while I hate to wish a moment away, does mean we're that much closer to longer days and fun in the sun *g*.

And while I'm stuck indoors mostly today doing things I'd rather not be doing, I'm alternating crappy I-don't-wanna! jobs with cups of coffee and browsing the internet for inspiration for a graphics project I want to start... and isn't the internet just amazing?! I don't think I'm ever going to stop being stunned by it all. Just a big kid in the sweet shop, that's me *g*

And then there's Sherlock last night, with all the fannish explosion afterwards, which makes me smile till it hurts. And Pros! I'm still so in lurve it makes me grin.

Sorry... what was the question again? *g*

Ohhhh - I'm so surreptitiously sipping your hazelnut latte, my favourite kind. My coffee (bought, as a treat!) was horrible this morning - burnt and somehow sweet, and... and it was supposed to be a latte! I didn't dare add my hazelnut to it, in case it made it worse and was wasted...

Sherlock was good wannit! I'm not looking at the fandom explosion (though thank goodness it sounds like it was a happy explosion this time!), but I'm remembering happily... *g*

Okay, I'd better go and alternate myself... *g*

Best I can manage is that it's a beautiful cold crisp day here too.

zoic#2 has a Very Crucial music test later today (feel free to cross your fingers *g*) which is a bit nervous-making, but on the other hand we accompanied him to a jam session last night (he's not old enough to go to late-night places on his own yet) and he had a great time so that counts as a Good Thing. It was the last one ever being run by this brilliant woman who organises them (she's off to do other career-type stuff now) so it ran incredibly noisily until 1am :-D (so it counts as a Good Thing for today, right?). One of the things I love is that it doesn't matter that all the other musicians (whether pro or not) are at least 10-20 years older, nobody cares. Also, they serve great ginger beer - really spicy and gingery *g*

Zoic#2's music definitely counts as a Wonderful Thing, even with tests in the middle of it (how did he get on?!) Oh, and good ginger beer is also a Wonderful Thing... *g*

I hope Monday evening produced Better Things - I'm counting that the fixing of my car seems to have gone smoothly as a Better Thing...

Thank you! (he thinks he didn't do very well, unfortunately, but we won't actually know for sure for a couple of weeks or so. So we'll just have to wait and see)

Good news about the car! That kind of thing has the potential to cause grief out of all proportion to its happiness-potential (unless one is a person who loves cars for their own sake, I suppose) so I'm glad it's gone well and hopefully will refrain from causing you any grief for as long as possible!

I do love ginger. Cake, beer, beef, crystallised, in syrup, in bath oil - you name it. The other day I checked the ingredients of this chai I drink gallons of all the time, and found out it's got a hint of ginger in it too (also black pepper. mmmmm).

Happy Tuesday! Hope it has Good Things in it for you!

Eeep for Zoic#2 thinking he didn't do well - hopefully it's just that thing where it feels like it went badly...

Oh, and yum - ginger! You've got me hankering now... one of those ginger muffins that Starbucks does, perhaps... oh, to be sitting there with a good latte and a book... or my laptop... *g* I do have half a bottle of ginger wine at home, come to think of it - I wonder how long that keeps...

Happy Thursday, now - I hope! *g*

Good things about today? Great Dutch coffee, lovely Dutch friends, going down to the bar now for a beer or three. Nice crisp cold weather, sunshine on the canals, lots of cycling people - but not with lycra and helmets, just good old upright old-fashioned bikes with riders pedalling lazily. Life's good today!

Here, it was the little bit of snow we got overnight, making me very happy! I'm foolishly hoping for more! :)
And then I started looking through our trip pics to post a few, and remembered how much fun it was.
It doesn't hurt that it's a holiday here, either. *g*

Holiday's are definitely Wonderful Things - and snow! Another Wonderful Thing! And your trip photos... *sighs happily* I've to go to the dentist again today - part one, yet again, of a root canal - and I'll be home late. If I can get all my work done before that, maybe I'll get my photos out and start posting, as I keep saying I'm going to do... *g*

More of your photos would be very nice, but it *is* time consuming, to get them posted.
Eek on the root canal. I've never had one, but they sound evil. I hope it went okay!
Is your face pain related to sinus infections?

I'm sorry to say that I'm ready for more time off already, even though school just started up again. I'm fine once I'm there, but the get-go in the morning is a bit lacking.

And I still didn't get those pics posted - rats!

I've had root canals before, and they've actually been less stressful than ordinary fillings, but this one was a top molar, with apparently long and sneaky roots, and she practically climbed into my mouth to do it - it ached afterwards! But she'd warned me it might, so... (of course she's warned me of that before and it hasn't, so that was still a bit disappointing!) I think I did have a sinus thingie over Christmas, and perhaps it sort of confused itself with my tooth having a problem too... I actually do feel better since I was at the dentist, despite the ache, so... cross fingers!

I am so not getting-going this morning! I was actually okay the last couple of mornings, but I having gone to bed just slightly after 11pm instead of before it seems to have made an awful difference - my eyes just want to be closed... which is not considered good when you're at work, so I won't... *g* Sounds like we all need some perking up!

Good things today? There are some. It's been raining steadily since Sunday (now Tuesday night) so I haven't had to cart heavy watering cans around my garden. My dinner is yummy - Vegemite and cheese on corn thins. I've spent a bit of time tonight organising an upcoming weekend away with a friend. And Bodie-cat is curled at my feet, waiting for me to go to bed so he can curl up there too.

Ooh, you're only the second person I know to eat cheese and vegemite together! (Cream cheese, right?) My brother used to eat it on toast all the time, and even that was years ago...

Your good things sound good - rain is good, and yummy dinners, and organising weekends away with friends is very good... yeay! *g*

Actually, sliced vintage tasty cheese (Cracker Barrel, if you saw it while you were here). Cream cheese works well too, though, as does peanut butter.

Oh, d'you know I read that as "corn chips" rather than "corn thins"... *headdesk* We have Cracker Barrel</> over here, too... *g* I'm so craving really good vintage cheddar now (though I'm eating barbeque pistachios, which are also good... *g*)

Cheese and peanut butter, really? Hmmn... *g*

Heeee - sounds better to me than vegemite and peanut butter!
