Doctor Who - brilliant
Digital television - gaaaaaaaargh!

Is it just me? Why is it that digital television spends half its time falling apart into little squares (ha - invasion of the Power of Two...) and making the sound go all juddery at all the vital moments? Bring back terrestrial! Also, it occurs to me, if everywhere's digital, and I lived in a shared house type community place, could I pick up tv in my room without it being wired in? Like you could in the old days of aerials? And even if they were a wee bit fuzzy sometimes, I swear they didn't fall apart into little squares at least once every programme you watch...

Seriously - just me?

I liked The Power of Three though - I wasn't sure I would, cos Amelia Pond usually just makes me roll my eyes, but it totally worked. And I like Rory. And Rory's dad. And whassername-Stewart, in charge at UNIT. And ooooh for the trailer for next week! Oooooooh!

I really enjoyed this ep too - I've been a bit meh about the last season or two, but this was a really good character study episode and it was fab. UNIT! Jemma Redgrave as the Brig's daughter! And they name-checked the Zygons! Lots of awesome stuff! But I'm now really worried about how Amy and Rory end up leaving because I'm worried that Brian will end up devastated after sending them off like that.

Not just you. i was having the same problems watching Downton last week!

If you have a digital tv with its own aerial then yes, you can. My boys have tellys in their rooms and they're not plugged in to the main aerial or the Sky dish so they just watch the free digital channels. If you want to pay for more, I'm not sure how you'd get on though.

I kind of wandered into DW last night and then wandered out again feeling like I was watching something I'd watched before... Was there long enough to enjoy Jemma Redgrave though. The cubes were cool too, especially when they all did different things! I think walking through the spacey-timey thing in the goods lift was my cue to become restless. I don't know what it is, maybe I'm just not hard-wired for sci-fi or I've fallen out of love with telly in general. The wandering off seems to happen more and more... although I did just about manage a whole programme about the Vikings :D

Professor Brian Cox!!! Bet that was a dream come true for him. And UNIT! and real life BBC newsreaders!

I skipped the past couple of series, but my younger son still enjoys DW and I enjoy watching with him (the OH can't abide sci fi so we pick our time). The series seem formulaic now - a historical ep, a contemporary Earth ep, an alien planet ep...
And when will the improbably good looking Amy Pond clear off out of it?
But individual eps like Power of Three are as good as ever.
