...when a number of intrepid Pros fans headed south (and east, and across the sea, and down the A1), and found themselves having a gorgeous few Pros-y days in a couple of rather cool pubs, a YHA, and some very good company indeed... on our Scarsdale weekend! *g*

It began with [livejournal.com profile] foxcat74, [livejournal.com profile] moonlightmead, [livejournal.com profile] murphybabe and myself in an IYHA in Holland Park...

(more about that later)... gathered up [livejournal.com profile] ladyhawke2 along the way...

...progressed past the halls of power and shiny lights...

...to the even shinier (and sometimes slightly startling) world of the Cologne Christmas market...

...where may have been hot chestnuts and mulled wine, and then strolling further along the south bank...20121130 04Southbank

...past my favourite fire juggler (he was still there from last year!)...

...until we got to our eating place of sparkly lights...

The food was Anatolian, and tasty...

Then it was over the bridge, and past the shadowed ships that sail across night-dark London...

...and onto the tube, and home...

You know, I was going to post about the whole weekend all at once, but it's an hour later and it's still only Friday night - ack! There will have to be more tomorrow (oh lucky you!), because it's also bed time... Oh, but it was lush and I want to be there now, doing it again... who's with me?! *g*

It all looks so magical!
Really reminds me of December in London with my daughter, last year.
They have a Cologne Christmas Market? How was the "Gluehwein"?
Did they have potato fritters with applesauce?

And regarding your questions at the end: send me a ticket, and I'll be there! *g*
There might even be snow, which is always in short supply here.

They did have potato fritters with apple sauce, and sugar on them! We tried them, and they were nice, but odd to my Brit taste because my brain was insisting that potatoes should be savoury *g* And the gluehwein was fantastic, and very welcome in the cold.

[livejournal.com profile] murphybabe has taken the words out of my mouth - they did indeed have potato fritters with apple sauce, and I'm amazed that's exactly what you've commented about, cos they were quite the adventure! *g* We hunted and hunted for something veggie to eat (as you can probably imagine *g*), and I was quite excited by potato fritters, and sort of skimmed over the apple sauce part, so that it was rather unexpected by the time I was eating them! Also, for some reason I was expecting a sort of stuck-together pancake-type fritter, and this was all in pieces. But they were nice, and I'd eat them again! *g*

The Gluehwein was good too, and I'm even thinking longingly of it again now... *g*

There's lots of German-style Christmas markets over here these days - I'm never sure how many might be run by people actually from Germany, but I think this one might have been - the potato fritter lady sounded German, anyway! *g*

Also - I'm crediting you with magic snow-making powers now, you realise! I saw your comment on my phone before I'd even got up properly, opened the curtains 15 minutes later, and - snow! *g*

Well I definitely want more chatting time, because I never seem to manage to chat with you at the Scarsdale, I'm always in a corner and can't quite reach, somehow... Next year!

Friday was lovely... even with the several unexpected tube journeys that were a result of our stop being on the Circle and District line, just where it splits! *headdesk*
