Hello Dubai!

Am about to dash out for brass and glitz (and dinner) with a Job 2 colleague who happens to be here at the same time - but look! Hello! I'm here... *g* (The more interesting pics are under the cut, but I'm all chronological...)
Last morning in Cambs...

Flying kangaroo (excellent airline - and to think I thought they were all patriotism and hype, like all the rest! I've never had so much leg space, it was lush!

Dubai in view...

Room with a view - the 38th floor! That's Burj al-Arab looking all impressive on the beach there -

And then the view was gone! I woke up from my nap, and the view was gone, and I couldn't quite push hard enough to open the window! (Filthy dirty windows, mind - that's the streaks. It's a shame, cos otherwise I have a suite! Me - in a suite!)

Look - gone!

Luckily it came back and I could open the window again, but it continued breezy... *g* I could see swirls of sand way down on the ground, though not well enough to take a pic.

And then the daylight was gone anyway - the sun sets early here too!

More when I get back, but - I'm he-ere!

Date: Sunday, 17 November 2013 05:56 pm (UTC)And, whoa. On the picture of the open window (and, um, was it meant to open? On the 38th floor?)... there is something really really strange there. Have another look at what you have captured. The billows of the curtains create the image of a gigantic transparent head and neck, gazing out over Dubai.
I'm not sure what to call this... creation of yours - a spirit, a watcher, a mirage, but now that I have seen him, I can't stop seeing him!

I've only ever been at the airport (changing planes on the way to Australia), and that was ages ago. But I remember how richly decorated it was, compared to other airports.
Amazing photos! Can't wait to hear more. Enjoy every minute of it! And what a coincidence, meeting a co-worker there!
