I just can't seem to do it, I can't choose just one thing - let alone one photo... So, some things that made me happy today!
1 - Ideas for stories! Don't you love it when you think you're stuck and then you get ideas! Of course they need plotting and then writing, but ideas are always a happy thing. *g*
2 - Bank Holiday Monday! Even though I ended up working, and then working extra. It was still a holiday.
3 - Popping out for a few hours once I'd finished work, to Denny Abbey and Farmland Museum, because it was another gorgeous warm day - spring!
4 - All that colour in the second photo? It was painted in medieval times! How happy-making to touch other times...
5 - Windows within windows and doors within doors on walls - and then beams of sunlight flooding through when I was taking a photo. Actually only when I was taking a photo - they weren't there until I lifted my phonecamera and looked through it! Love it when the world is magical like that.
6 - Finishing half my work for tomorrow, so that I have an easier run for volunteering.
7 - Being asked if I could help out with some last-minute work that was needed for 8 tomorrow morning, just as I thought I was finished. This is an odd happy, but actually it was a nice job, quickly done, and it was nice to be able to help out after I'd had to ask for help myself last week - so I'm actually happy that I did it!

Well I'm nothing if not predictable .... (and greedy, of course) ... so I'll admit to being particularly happy myself to see no. 1, yay!!! *g*

Happy things, well ... got a bit further ahead with Current Job than anticipated, which is good. And we scoured and scoured the local charity shops at the weekend and finally found something zoic#2 can wear for the pre-exams school leavers' do this week (phew) (I blame the USA for this creeping promification of school dos, dammit. It's fun to dress up, but I'd rather it were optional - and more fantastical, less formal ... anyway, at least we found something! One of those silly coincidences - we'd been through all the shops, found nothing, not even a jacket, ran out of time, were heading home empty-handed - and running late; accidentally caught sight of a brand new charity shop that hadn't even been there last time, decided to take one last minute to look. They had an evening suit in his size, just needed the hems adjusted. Oof.). So hey, you made me think of happy things too! *g*

Ah, I must confess - it wasn't Pros... (although you know there's loads of those stories waiting for me to get on with them...) Sorry! But maybe that'll be a happy thing for another day.

Yeay for getting further ahead with Current Job than expected. Doesn't it feel good! And yeay for finding Zoic#2's outfit - I blame the US too, though my landlady reckons they'd been having "Proms" at the end of school up in Scotland for years. I remain unconvinced - I'd never heard of them anywhere except the US before, in all my reading and telly (which much surely have encompassed Scotland too...)! As you say, it's fun to dress up, but it seems to be made so expensive and formal and... and with so much that's expected. Kids are supposed to be free at the end of school, even "socially"... But yeay for finding the outfit! And yeay for happy things thought of!

The abbey was rather gorgeous, in a sort of time-slip way - you could see so much of it, all half-uncovered and overlapping. Very evocative, I thought...

And yeay for your happy happy happy visitors!

Aren't the doorways and window ace? The whole place had been done like that - uncovered on purpose by the archaeologists/heritage workers of the 1970s, when they were sorting it out for English Heritage. It makes it lovely and atmospheric, I think - all that time upon time upon time... *g*

Catching up here - backwards *g*

Lovely pics, particularly the windows and doors. I was working on Monday, so I missed yet another official holiday. Something Must Be Done.

Catching up too - sorry to take so long!

Bank holidays are definitely more fun when you can join in - Something Must Be Done indeed!
