...on my Waterstones card, because I was fumbling with my new wallet - they take ages to get used to, don't they? - and happened to ramblingly and randomly mumble oh no, it's in the book section, isn't it.... Chappie who served me looked delighted with this - "You have a book section in your wallet?" - and gave me an extra stamp entirely on the strength of it! Yeay for lovely personal service in shops - it's what makes us smile and keeps us going back, right? *g*

Plus, books, obviously... (one was practically for work, actually... and the other could certainly be described as research... honest. *g*)

Oh, and scudding-stormy looking clouds outside make me happy too - perhaps especially this time because they didn't actually drop rain and greyness over us, they just passed majestically by in a dramatic sort of way. In the wind, which also makes me happy. I like wind, it's the world being alive!

I'm a bit confused about what you mean by a book section in your wallet .... but judging by Nice Waterstones Person's reaction, it's a good thing to have! *g*

Ah yes, should have explained that... *g* See, I even mumbled on here... It's just the bit of my wallet where my cards and so on for bookshops go (my coffee ones go in the same bit, mostly). I try to keep all my reward card thingies together, but there are so many these days, so my supermarket ones go in the main section, and my book ones go in my... book section. *g*

Oh, a book card! Do you get a free book of your choice, when you have a certain number of stamps?
What a nice thing to offer!

Enjoy the weather! It sounds, like it's been pretty nice in your area lately!

You get £10 off books! Whoo-hooo! Which means you get £1 off for every £10 you spend, basically, because you earn a stamp for every £10 you spend. Which means you don't usually get a stamp for just buying a book, because most novels are just under £10... but I got to cash one in a few weeks ago, and that was fun. You also get a rewards card like at a supermarket, where you accumulate points towards books. I've got about £3 on there, too... *g* Waterstones is good like that - it is a good thing to offer, isn't it - long live real paper bookshops!

The weather has been nice - and then today it rained pretty much end-to-end... well, it's not raining now actually, so perhaps not quite to this end!

Ooh, I was in Waterstones this morning in a non-buying trance. No free stamp but they (and Rymans for some reason) definitely have the friendliest, most helpful staff on the high road \o/

Nice to have friendliest and most helpful staff in a bookshop! The lot at this Waterstones vary, actually, but this was clearly a good day! Do you have their Waterstones card? The ordinary plastic one, that's like supermarket reward cards? That accumulates points towards money off too, and you can cash it in whenever you like... Yeay!

We had one of those scudding storm clouds (perhaps it headed north?) which decided to try to drown us just as I was getting ready to go to the supermarket. But it soon got tired of us and went elsewhere to play!

Your new wallet sounds very organised!! I know exactly what you mean about having to learn your way round them.

Yeah, I think that cloud must have headed back down south so that it could dump on us all today - or else it called in one of its friends... *g*

I like having compartments in wallets, cos there's so much crap stuff that you're expected to have in them these days that I'd never find it otherwise... My book section is in the flap opposite my cool-memberships section, which mostly involves history... and coffee overlaps them both, a little... *g*

Aww, nice Waterstones man.

Is this a card for the coffee shop part, then, or for books? I have a Waterstones card, but it is just a credit card-sized piece of plastic, which generally refuses to be swiped, it is so old.

Oh it's for the book part. Sadly our Waterstones has made a pact with the devil Costa, so I don't go there for coffee (can't stand Costa coffee, it's so bitter - though in an emergency it's better than nothing). I have a plastic Waterstones card too - they replaced them a while ago, so you might need to do that. They should have offered! It collects enough points that it's nice to cash in occasionally. The card one seems to be an added extra for our branch - but it's extra incentive to buy something there. You know, if I happen to be going past anyway...

The book card stamp is great :) Not quite so great is that we got your cloud and it dumped all its rain over us :( Buy hey, we probably needed it. I'm sure. For something.

If it's any consolation the cloud must have turned right around and come back this way, because it's been dumping on us all day - only just stopped now, really, and even so I think it's still spattering occasionally... But yeah - if we didn't have it there wouldn't be so much green, right? *g*

That's fantastic! The stamp, I mean, and the shop assistant's lovely service.

The stamp is fairly fantastic - and there's a swipe card too, that also earns points. Yeay bookshops, with real paper books and extra rewards for buying them!
