...and not as warm as it has been, though not cold either (unless you're sitting at a desk all day desperately trying to meet your deadline cos you were skiving in the sunshine the day before... *headdesk*)

Anyway, it looked rather like this...
2014-10-29 01DampDay 2014-10-29 02DampDayStill
That's yesterday's laundry still not quite dry because the air got so damp and stayed that way! Ack! I keep wondering if it's just cold, but I think there's a touch of damp in there still... and it was warm enough yesterday that there's been no evening heating again - rats!

Oh, but a happy thing -
CharmOfMagpies-4books(KJCharles)
- A Flight of Magpies is finally out (though only in e-reader - it's one of the few that I'll buy to read now and buy the paperback when it eventually comes out... And since I'm reading The Haunting of Hill House right now, and I am not going to read that in bed at night, I reckon I might just start my Vaundrey/Day book... *g* Although the sad thing is that I've seen it described as a trilogy, and the last book in the trilogy, as in there aren't going to be any more - waaah! (I know, there are four covers there, the third one was for a mini-novelette bonus free extra that the author very kindly wrote... *g*)

And A Death in the Dionysus Club is hopefully winging it's way this way as I type, too - but a real proper paper book... Yeay!

Now, if I'd just gotten on with planning for NaNoWriMo, cos it's the one thing I haven't done after buying those books yesterday, and... and... I think I need a plan or it might all fall apart after all! Eeep! Last writing group in Bath tomorrow morning too (and then home for the day's work) - but more about that then, of course... And I have lj comments to catch up with too - I will, I will get there...

Soooo sleepy now - bed beckons. Can I be bothered going down to fill my hot water bottle, even? I'm not sure I can, you know... zzzzzz

I may have read Flight of Magpies instead of writing Instalment no. 2 and I may have enjoyed it so much that I gave it 5 stars *g* It is the last in a trilogy but there's another free short coming out in January, A Case of Spirits, Magpie 2.5 . She says she'd rather leave readers sad by ending a series we like than by screwing up a series we like.

Oh... and then there's Jackdaw, coming out sometime next year, which features a character from Flight who demanded that his story be told. I believe Stephen and Crane appear in it too, although the story isn't about them.

Oh, I'm halfway through Flight of Magpies now, because I had to re-read A Case of Possession first - I forgot how much I liked it, even... *g* I read and read for far too long last night, and now I have sore eyes for work, but I had to force myself to put it down when I was having trouble focusing! Sadly (well, because it's not still waiting for me) I've already read A Case of Spirits - it came available as a free download for Kobo books when I first heard about it, and I downloaded it expecting it to vanish within 24 hours or something, but it hasn't! That said, I can't find The Magpie Lord on my Kobo, which doesn't make me happy... I can find it on my shelf, which is fine, but... this is why I want things on paper not just as e-books!

Ooh, but Jackdaw - I hadn't heard about that! (Which is annoying, because I've subscribed to Charles' blog and I've not seen it mentioned! How did you find out about it? (I really want Lucien/Stephen, but if they pop up at least then that'll be something... *g*)

Ooh, I'm jealous that you've read A Case of Spirits. I only found out about it the other day. Well, either that or I knew about it and forgot *g* KJ has a Facebook group for readers and she often shares thoughts with us and invites questions about pretty much anything to do with her writing. I keep up with her there.

Have you read Interlude With Tattoos? It's Magpie 1.5 and another free short.

Oh, sorry, I thought I'd written back for some reason!

I have read Interlude with Tattoos, and... The Warlord and the Smuggler, and the deleted scene from Flight of Magpies... *g* And I still want more!

Charles actually posted to say she forgot to post about Flight of Magpies being released too, on her blog, so it sounds like she must mainly use her Facebook. Which is a bugger for me, because I don't have one, and I see her special bits are all locked up to members - waah! If you do hear of any more Magpie stuff, please give me a shout!

I love The Haunting of Hill House. Both the book and the movie. The original movie, not that horrible mishmash of nonsense that was the remake. Good idea reading it during the day. *g*

Hmmn - is it time for me to get the Pros Halloween storylist out again...? *g* (Do you watch [livejournal.com profile] ci5hq? Let me see what I can do over there... *g*)

There - A list! Sorry it's late for you - I should have thought of doing it yesterday, but yesterday was a bit mad...

I've just finished the book now, because I needed to for Halloween (*g*) - very good! It was the horrible mishmash of the remake that I saw, and to be honest I don't remember much about it, except that I don't remember the story from the book at all, so I suspect it wasn't very related except perhaps for being about four people in a haunted house! *g*

Here in Oz we've been getting re-runs of "Judge John Deed" and even though I own the vids; I still enjoy watching Martin in action = any excuse for a perv [lol] He's certainly aged well; leaving no doubt a strict vegan diet does wonders. Lew also looked fantastic [so photogenic] even with stark white hair; until he became ill. I hope I'm so lucky by the time I catch-up in 20 or so years....Kiashi

It's been years since I watched JJD... MS has definitely aged well, and I do wonder how much of that is down to his diet and meditation and so on. He always seems so full of life too. And reading that beside thinking about LC is a sad thing, now that I'm doing it... So I shall think of them both as my Bodie and Doyle, eternally young and moving fast and sure! *g*

And yes - hope that I'm even a little bit as young and energetic looking as MS seems to be, when I'm that age - wishing that for all of us! *g*

Me too - I will always think of them as 'both as my Bodie and Doyle' too. That way they will forever remain young and vital and beautiful and oh so special. I'm grateful to have found them and I'm thrilled that all these years later they still remain as relevant if not more so..long live our boys....Kiashi
