The rain stopped around lunchtime, so I went for a walk in the blustery wind after all, and look what I found - a scattering of blossom, then a little crop of crocuses...

...and then little sproutings of primroses and wild violets too!

But even more spring-like? The reason I went out in the first place - Landlady texted me to say one of their sheep had dropped two wee lambs, if I wanted to come and see... *g*

Though I'm not sure this year's first day of British Summer Time was the very kindest weather for them to end up in! They're not even two hours old in this pic - awwww... *g*

Awwww! What cute babies! What kind of sheep are they, do you know?

Aren't they a bit gorgeous! *g* They're Welsh Black, I think. There's four grown-up sheep, and more babies to come from... maybe two of them, I think. Sadly they're not in a field I can see from here (well, I can't see any fields from here, though I like it when the horses and I stick our heads out to see what's happening at the same time... *g*)

Thank you - they're so pretty... we've got what I think are Dorset sheep behind the cottage, but they're so big anyway, I can't tell if we're expecting or just... large!

More lambs - awww! I love the ewes reassuring their lambs at night, it's such a lovely peaceful sound.

It's a lovely sound, isn't it, sheepses talking to each other and their babes... Mind you, I like hearing roosters crowing in the morning too, and these days that's just considered mad...

I do like having animals around though - how lush to have sheep behind your cottage! Oh, I hope they're expecting for you... *g*

It *must* be spring with these sweet lambs ;-) At home it is a bit rainy and stormy, but there was some warm and sunny weather, too, so the winter is beaten!

Yes! It must be spring, mustn't it! *g* Hurrah for beating winter, for one more year! *g*

What lovely little black lambs! And primroses make me happy too. What perfect pictures for the clocks gone forward day.

They're a bit gorgeous, aren't they... *g* Primroses make me happy, and wee purple violets, and that it was light well after 7pm - even if it was a bit grey with it. It's spring!

When I was scrolling down, looking at your pictures, I first thought the mother sheep was a bear, when just seeing the top of her back! :D
She and her babies look well "dressed" for the cool weather.
Yeah, spring!
The front yard here is just bursting with blossoms of all kinds. We had a very mild winter, and the tulips and daffodils are as good as done already.

Hee - they do look a bit bear-like, don't they! I couldn't believe how sturdy the lambs looked after not even two hours in the (very blustery quite cold) world - just well they were well-dressed!

just bursting with blossoms of all kinds
That sounds just... glorious. *g*

Oh, how cute are they, and how lucky are you to be able to see new born lambs!!

We hardly have any primroses in the graden, I do have to change that.
But we have big daffodils and the small kind, and the tulips are blooming and there is a hint of new green everywhere, YAY!!

Oh, I knew I was behind replying - and I went backwards a day instead of forwards! Yeay for newborn lambs though, including ones that are born at midnight and are all wet and sticky over my jacket so I have to wash it today, but... but still cute. *g*

And wow - tulips blooming! How fab! Hurrah spring! *g*

Yes! baa-lambs! Very cute indeed... *g* And already naughty - at just over a day old, one squeezed through into the other sheepses pen last night around 2am, so that Landlord and I both went out to find out what the poor bleating was all about! But cute... *g*

Oh, the two lambs look so sweet! It's amazing how fast they find their feet, isn't it? All we have right now is a mourning dove nesting in the tree in our front yard.

Aha! I knew I'd read your mourning dove comment, and then I lost it... I think it's lovely to have a dove nesting in your front yard though - what a lovely, peaceful thing to have around! *g*
