Good morning! The sky is blue, the wind is blustery, and the washing is on! There will apparently be gales and lashing rain later today, but for now it's quite pretty out there. And here we are, in the office... with a day that is not looking anything other than dull except for that weather... I didn't do very well on Friday either, was far too ambitious after a busy week, especially writing-wise. I shall just have to try again today... *g*

Good morning!

You've got a long list there again! All the best and happy working!

I just finished a tiny assignement fo Job 2.
Household chores are all done so far, the bunnies are out on the gras and one bit me in my finger as thank you...

The Maus wants attention now, we are planning on blowing out eggses to paint them. Easter is coming!
First we have to buy eggs, let's see if the weather holds for ten minutes, we have real April already, sunshine for five minutes, rain and gales the next. Though the rain prevails. I love it, now I can pretend I'm at the sea.

I am planning to quilt after we're done, I hope to get the Quilts done by friday....at least the big parts, because I habe to put everything away for Easter.

It is kind of a long list, isn't it... and most of it's work-work (yuck!)

You sound like you're having a fab day so far (bunny biting notwithstanding...). And Easter eggs! See, Easter is much more fun with kids around... *g*

I love the idea of pretending you're at sea in gale-y weather - maybe if it gets bad enough here I can do that too! Ooh, maybe it'll inspire my long-stalled lads-at-sea story... *g*

Hope you're up to quilting by now, and that it's fab!

Works not going too well, eh?
But you got most of the other things already ticked off, so that's good!

Oh yes, Lads at the sea!!! That would be so fab!

We got the kite out, I always carry in my bag, just after the shopping, but the wind was either too strong, or coming from the wrong direction, the kite just went this way and that way and only about two meters off the ground...
But it was FUN! We got wet, too, but only our backs, because we walked away from the wind and the rain. And we thought we'd get really soaked, though the way is really short. By the time we were halfway home the sun shone again.

No quilting yet, instead hexies from saturday.....I thought I'd switch around, that the hexies would be easier on my eyes during daylight....usually I make them in the evenings.

Right now we got bunnies in the oven, pics will follow.

Bunnies in the oven! Noooo! Don't cook your bunnies!

Hopefully I'll catch up on work now - it's still true I tend to work better at night, I guess... It's so annoying - the other things i do are so much quicker, but I seem to get far less work done anyway!

I'm very jealous of your kite flying, even if it was wet and it didn't work! And sun shining again! It's all just grey here, and maybe a bit windy, but definitely no gales. There've only even been a few drops of rain so far... so no Lads at Sea yet... Maybe it'll pick up later!

Ah no, can't post pics in the comment....I'd need to get the code out...I'll post about the bunnies.

The gales are gone, the sun is gone and I swear I saw some snowflakes, but Maus says I'm dreaming, they were just big rain drops. *gg*

The ten pages after putting the laundry away went fast!! Good luck on the next 40 pages.

What' the difference between laundry and wash?

Oh please, please, please write some windblown Lads....

Oh, good timing, I just finished my next set of pages (and a bit more!). It's definitely going faster... I'm at the bit with more graphs and equations and things now, which is always quicker. Yeay!

Heee for big raindrops-snow... *g* I bet they were snow... *vbg* I wonder if we'll get your gales soon, then...? *g*

Laundry is only ever a noun, but it can mean a few different things:
- all the clothes you need to wash and dry
- a place where you wash and dry clothes
The verb is "to launder", but that's usually used when you send clothes away for someone else to clean ("I've sent them to be laundered")

Wash can be the verb (of course - "I'm going to wash my clothes/body/bunnies" *g*) but when you use "the wash" it becomes the noun and usually means laundry. Hmmn, when do we use that...?! "I've put my shirt in the wash" means that you've put it in the laundry (which might just mean the laundry basket, where they're waiting to be cleaned, or it might mean the washing machine etc.). But we don't really use "the wash" unless it's something immediate. So we'd say "I'm going to do my laundry" but not "I'm going to do the wash". Oh! But we might say "I'm going to do a wash", which means we're going to put a load of clothes in the washing machine - it doesn't mean all of them though, it's only part of the task - just the white clothes maybe, or delicates, or bedding.

But if we said "I'm going to do the washing up", we'd mean we were going to wash the dishes after a meal. *g* And that's always "washing up", not just "washing".

I bet you're sorry you asked, now. *g* But thanks - it was so much more fun for me to think about explaining that than to get on with Job 1! *g*

"The Wash" is also an area of the sea off Norfolk. King John was supposed to have lost the Crown Jewels there. *vbg*

Yay for graphs and stuff!!

It was snow! I just know!!

Thank you for the wonderful explanation! I enjoyed at very much and you are so welcome!
I knew about the washing up and I've heard about The Wash! *gg*

The rest is still very complicated, me thinks, just like your dinner and supper and tea, but your explanation is wonderful and now I know that I can use laundry without making too many mistakes. *ggg*
And to all that confusing stuff, there's always the thought about the different englishes, like fall and autumn and color and colour, and elevator and whateveritwascalledicantremember....*gg*

Didn' quilt a stitch, didn't finish my saturday hexies, ate too much, and I hate daylight savings time soooooooooooo much!!!

Hee - English is a bit complicated sometimes, but I bet no more than German is... *g* Really the main differences in what you've listed above are that one's basically UK English (autumn and colour and lift *g*) and one is US English (fall and color and elevator). And MS Word quite often tries to tell you that US English is the real one to use for UK English too, but it isn't... *headdesk*

Rats for not quilting yesterday, but I saw that you've been quilting today, so I'm going to go and say hi and well-done there, now... *g*

I'm grumping a bit cos it's mostly the big long work-job too (which wouldn't be nearly as long if I'd got on with it on Friday - as per...) But hey-ho - I will indeed kick its bottom and ruffle its hair and stuff. Now...
